It is that the we are winning and have generally this entire decade. I ran the numbers the other night. We have won about 65% of our games this decade thus far are and there are only a few games left to play this decade. I didn't check anyone else's numbers but that may be second best in the XII his decade. Our winning pct this decade may be higher than Texas. I'm not sure however about that. As I'm typing this I forgot that TCU feasted on cream puffs in 10-12 so they are up their as well.

Problem is, they tend to not know how to win graciously either.

Rejoice in the their tears. It means we are relevant. There was a time everyone loved Baylor. That sucked.

I think their hate actually started when our MBB team started beating their (at one time) vaunted basketball team during the season and in the Big XII tournament. They used to have a hoops superiority complex.

They hate us cuz they ain't us.

During our years of wandering in the desert, we were the only thing keeping them from being mocked as the worst team every year in the Big 12. Once we made it to Canaan and Briles stomped their collective a****, they despised the fact they no longer had anyone to mock.

At the same time, they perceive themselves as poor farm kids and Baylor represents the rich, private school kids. When the rich private school kids got really good, won the conference they will NEVER win outright, and did it with flash and dash, the hatred just continued to boil and boil.

Personally, I love it. Better to be hated than not even thought about.

They hate us because we beat them, and did so at the last minute.

Not only that but this year they were picked as the dark horse of the XII and we've stolen their thunder.

When we lost to everyone, other fans patted us on the head, in a way that was disrespectful that you could never imagine.

When we beat people, they get mad, but in general, they know when to shut their mouths.

Flood Aggy is very entitled for a program that has won more than 8 games once since 1906.

Because we aren't early 2000s Big12 quality for an easy win anymore.

To my knowledge, IowaSt has never won an outright football championship. I think they may have been in a 3 way tie for the Big8 in 1959, but I'm not certain.

That being said, at some point in the mid 2000s when the Big 12 north was awful, Iowa St was in position to make the CCG (albeit with a 5-3 conference record or something). All they had to do was kick a game winning 30 yard FG on the last play. Naturally it was shanked wide right and I think Missouri advanced.

If the only thing to do in my state was meth, I'd be irritable too.

Iowa State and mediocrity. Name a more iconic duo.

Most of their students and alumni are clueless about Baylor's history prior to the big 12. They just think of us as a backwards, little Baptist school that has no business being relevant in athletics. Oh and add being upper-Midwest liberals to the mix and I get the hate.

Same thing but to a lesser extent that makes Tech/tcu. They see a program taking a spot they think they have to potential and should be filling. They remember early 2000s and think that is the norm when the reality Bu was highly undervalued and under performing.

Other aspect is religious affiliation then having two situations in the athletic department within 2 decades. I can't completely argue with them there.

Dane is right on the other one although fortunately it's only one niche of the school. Tcu is much more defined by that reality as the majority of the school. Bu is large enough that it has a decent niche that didn't consider other privates and were normal kids choosing between say a&m / texas / ou and us.

This and some of the other factors in my other post is why Tech feels the same. You can see their terrible performance. It's hard to win there and they took it for granted that their trajectory to the top was imminent during the Leach period.

You only pay attention to things that are important to you, something you have a passion about. I feel honored the cyclones give us so much hate. It is quite amusing.

I think they did come to think of it. It may have been their first conf win in the XII.

Two-time Big (10) 12 coy, Campbell, is a whiner, a la FatPat.
Program is an also-ran for 127 years, so...
Corneaters hate to see us continually pass them on the way to relevancy. First Briles. Now Rhule.

It has nothing to do with beating them in football, or beating them in basketball. Its all about faux outrage from our media fueled scandal.

Those on here that have said that they hate seeing up replacing their perceived success and future success is correct. Just now they cover it with faux outrage and clutching of pearls, trying to act high and mighty but really just hoping we crash and burn because we are better at football and all other sports than they are.

Another thing, we did beat them for our first Big 12 road win in 2005. I still remember where I was while watching it on ESPN game cast because it wasn't on tv. What a good day that was...suck it, cyclones!
