Ok step right up and predict. Impress your friends!!! You can predict anything about the game. The score. The number of fans at the game. The number of obnoxious drunk UT fans. The number of first downs. If McConaughey plays the bongos and falls in the Brazos. Fire away.

I think the big question for me is how our guys will respond to such a kick in the gut. Will they come out flat or as Rhule suggested, use the disappointment as fuel. I know we don't "technically" have to beat Texas but I feel it's a must-win for our morale and momentum. I we lose, it will be very very difficult to beat Kansas bc we will be their bowl game. We could easily end on a 4 game losing streak (including bowl) So much hinges on us beating the horns, BUT I'm an optimist... Plus I believe in these guys. Now, for my prediction...

Despite the freaky second half of the UT game, I feel like much of our OL problems were solved by getting Galvin back. We will score on UT. The Texas Offense is built a lot like OU in that dime eyes can really run (but he's no Jalen) and they have Duvernay. So that scares me. However, I believe in our D and think the OU second half was a bizarre outlier.

Im going:

Texas 24

Our defense plays lights out and we get 4 qts from our offense.

When Rhule said 21 days he meant 21 plays (in the 2nd half)

If we could have done that we'd have likely won

Nothing left to do but go on a 4 game winning streak

It depends. If Baylor coaches manage the game like the first half or the second. I hate UT but this next game is on Rhule. Can he bring this team back together and inspire them to keep winning or do we respond flat. Depends on Rhule and his great process.

Too soon after an emotional letdown. And, if it's raining as predicted, the score will likely be 10-7 Horns as neither team has a legitimately powerful rushing offense.

28-10 Baylor defense carries the team for 3 quarters and offense comes alive for 4 tds in the 4th

I don't want to do a score but we will win. This team is emotionally and mentally tough minded. Everything about this season and this Rhule era thus far proves they have the grit to get over it. They are not going to have a hangover post this game especially when we have been beaten by UT the last few years. This team of seniors on senior day will be up to whoop up on Texas.

Plus Texas's defensive back field is worse than OUs. Their offense is predictable. Stop Duverany and keep Sam contained and this defense will feast. Establish the run early and get out to a quick start. UT doesn't have the fire power and the talent at quarterback like OU had to comeback. And to be honest with you OU didn't have the talent to do it either. They played a bunch of freshmen at receiver. Our D just got gassed.

We will win this game. Charlie and the O will be pissed and comeback better than they have been this season. They have confidence now haven seen that they can move the ball against anybody in this league. They aren't scared of anything. If they limit mistakes like they did last night and keep the tempo they started with in the first half for the whole game instead of trying to hold on to the lead, we will be more than fine.

This isn't the old Baylor. A lot of us are looking for us to implode. We won't. This team is different from past years. Players are fearless. The only thing CMR needs to tell the offensive coaching staff is Vanderbilt. Which means let a rip.

UT probably had an emotional letdown as well. After trailing throughout they thought they had won the game late, but could not keep ISU from getting into field goal range....and legitimate range by being offsides on the first attempt. I don't think we have to worry about an emotional letdown. The team probably would like to get out there right now and attone.

If Ja'Mycal Hasty goes full speed, he is very potent. Not to mention Ebner & Lovett. Brewer can run too.

Ebner has 9 carries for a whopping 14 total yards the past 3 games while Lovett has all of 90 yards on 21 carries. Ebner is obviously still not at full speed. So, no, they're not "explosive" or powerful like you may want them to be. Hasty can be serviceable if he can learn to hold on the football and run forward instead of side to side. Thankfully, the Horns aren't any better at running the ball so that gives us a chance.

Agree. But not the same as us, particularly after smacking down OU in the first half then having one of the worst meltdowns in Baylor football history.

And for the record, I am one of the few (maybe 3 or 4) who said in the June/July preseason threads that we would win 10 games and a bowl game. I said we would lose 2 conference games, although I thought it would be at OK State, where we've always struggled, and then either OU or UT. But the coaches' and players' inability to make any 2nd half adjustments tells me we may be in for another letdown this week before clinching a spot in the Big 12 championship game with a close win on the road against KU.

They may not have done so much in the past couple of games but we have seen them do a lot in the past. The coaches just need to find a way to make it happen. If the OL can do a better job of opening holes in the DL, then maybe they will.

This.

As far as the emotional/intangible side of things goes...I think UT is more likely to have a let down than we are. UT came into this season off their Sugar Bowl win being ranked 10th in the country pre-season with natty contention dreams. They have had a lot of cold water splashed in their face with their 4 losses. This season has been a huge disappointment and they can't really do anything in their last 2 games to salvage the year.

Yesterday was a huge kick in the sack for our team...but we still have so much to play for in this season. I expect us to come out with tons of energy and fire to light up the Horns.

My sense is we will win. The Horns are down right now. Additionally I remember during the telecast last year, the commentators kept saying due to Brewer's family ties to UT, beating them is a big deal for him personally as a good natured inter family thing. Don't forget that factor.

I was kind of hoping some inherited hatred of OU would show up in the second half last night.

The Big 12's only hope of having a playoff team this year is if Oklahoma wins out and beats a 1-loss, top 10 ranked Baylor in the Championship game.

The officials will be overwhelmingly on our side and we win by 10.

I. Would not touch this prediction with a ten foot pole. Too much psychology on both teams to figure out. Frankly anything is possible. Yes, Baylor should win, but this could be a trap game. Anything is possible.

If we went 1-11 every year I would be pleased if that 1 win was against Texas. They have the smuggest fans in America. I HATE Texas with a passion.

Since we have fallen asleep for extended periods of time in every game this season, the real question comes down to how many quarters we will fall asleep or become inept. I am just praying it is not consecutive quarters.

Texas-Baylor (22). The stakes: A win by the Bears earns a spot in the Big 12 championship game. Even if they lose, they can lock up a spot the following week against Kansas. Texas is trying to keep slim conference championship hopes alive.

These are the embodiments of overachievement and underachievement within the Big 12Baylor having a breakthrough season, Texas having a breakdown season (more on that later in the Dash Fourth Quarter). Still, there is reason to wonder whether Baylor's second-half collapse against Oklahoma Saturday takes the helium out of a balloon that has stayed aloft longer than anyone expected.

Dash pick: Texas 24, Baylor 23.

23-17 Texas. A crappy Texas team has nothing to lose. Would not be surprised to see a mall fight. Deja vu all over again from 2015.
