Two questions:

When will the Horns next have a winning football season?
and
How many more new head coaches will it take?

Bonus Question:
Will that be pre-millennium? Or post-millennium ?

The pollsters will have them ranked in the Top 25 to begin next season. That helps sell magazines and subscriptions.

Don't worry, Brandon taught them how to build back better.

They may go through dozens of HC's because they don't give any of them enough time to do anything.

The Evil Empire. Doing less with more. Money can't buy you love, or apparently a good football team either.

They'll probably have a winning record their first year in the SEC once they've gone to lesser competition, just like aggy and mizzou did (ok, mizzou did drop off their 1st year, but followed that up with consecutive division crowns in 2 of their best 3 seasons in decades)

I agree. As soon as the get to the SEC. Why do you think they are leaving.

It's really impossible to do worse that 8-4 in the sec. just look at a&m

Somewhere, there's a 12-year old UT fan wondering if Texas will ever win a conference championship in his lifetime.

Every August they have a very good team. Not so much in the other months.

That's not entirely true. They have to be good enough in September to generate the "Texas is back" talk every year. It's in October and beyond that their annual collapse occurs.

What are they going to do if they go back to playing aggy in November? They do know one of them actually has to win a P5 game in November in that scenario, right?

Some of the SEC East teams do regularly: Vandy, SC, Mizzou, Kentucky (not this year, obviously). Arkansas is usually terrible, this year being an exception.

Sometimes it begins early but yours correct. It usually happens in October.

I seriously wonder if any of the UT BMDs and other powers that be have a clue that a big reason why they are currently a 4-7 team is because they're now on their 4th head coach within the last 8 years - and it's all been done by choice.

I realize we're on our 4th head coach within 6 years, but only CAB's & interim Grobe was by (unfortunate) choice.

Our AD has done a much better job in choosing an HC, each time.

It seems UT and Aggy have been on the same rollercoaster.

Extreme levels of arrogance. Both think they own the state of Texas when in reality, Texas is too big for one team to own. All they have are lots of fans & alumni (& $$$). That does not translate into championships or even relevance. Apparently, all they really care about is the money.

They will get the bucks but will be increasingly frustrated by not getting the fancy toys they think they deserve. All they have to do is drive up the highway to Waco! We have plenty of banners on display in the Ferrell Center. Their jealousy of "scrappy little" Baylor probably angers them even more. We know it causes paroxysms of rage for some of the toads.

Of course, the Whorn AD and Big Cigars are tripping over themselves as they line up to express support for Sark. They sunk serious dollars into dumping Herman & Co. then shelled out more big cash to install this shiny new offensive genius at 40 Acres. They aren't about to admit this was a mistake, or to --horrors-- confront a "culture problem"

I haven't thought about Texas since we beat them at McLane.

Most hurtful thing anyone can do to UT is to stop letting them have space in your mind and just ignore them.

Being an afterthought hurts those burnt orange *******s more than anything.

I know this is meant to be sarcastic but in 2014 I went to Matt's El Rancho after watching the Bears dismantle the Horns. I, of course, was wearing green and gold and two UT frat boys walked up to me. I was a little nervous because they seemed somewhat tipsy. One of them asked, "Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure."

"How long do you think it will take UT to get as good as Baylor is now?"

I was floored. I mean, my dad is a UT grad and was a student when Darrell Royal was ruling the SWC. I remember Earl Campbell and Fred Akers.

I said, "Not long. You guys always get plenty of talent."

Seven years later, they still haven't caught up and may be getting worse. Who knew?
