Looking for post oak for my new smoker for this weekend. I usually buy the boxed wood at Academy but they were sold out yesterday. I called Empire seed on Bosque and Hwy6 and they have stacks of oak for $24. Is that a good price?

I also know there is a wood shop on Old Dallas Hwy . Do they have post oak?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

The place on Old Dallas is pretty solid. They have post oak most of the time, as well as a variety of other woods (have bought pecan, cherry, apple and others from them in the past).

I just buy oak. Doesn't quite matter to me which type of oak (although I tend to steer clear of Live Oak other than in the chimney) .
