I'm my book, this is another great development for Waco :

I'm a big fan of Casey's convenience stores when driving through the Midwest. The pizza they make is great on road trips. Evidently Casey's bought CEFCO this summer (I missed the news) and will be changing all Waco-area locations to a Casey's store. Big news for our area.

One of my students works for Cefco. They have been working on the transition since summer. She said it's been pretty difficultmost change gets resistance. She does seem to think the Casey's people are bringing good ideas. CEFCO was on the way downhill, so hope it helps

Casey's is awesome. CEFCO sucks. Good win.

Yeah, I worked at the CEFCO at Ridgewood Village at Cobbs and north Valley Mills 30 years ago when it was called the Diamond Point Texaco, and I still have nine friendships from that store that I keep up with and camp with every year since(unfortunately six of those are Aggies). The owners at the time (Gummelts-nice people) only hired clean cut Baylor and Vanguard students to work the store, and we would pump the ladies gas and were always very classy. It was a nice store and I had a blast working there before I graduated. The place was bought out after I left and immediately went downhill, even before it became CEFCO, and I hate it.

Casey's is indeed a big win.

Founded by Clarence E. Fikes in the early 50s in Cameron. His son James was CEO for a long time but died about 5 years ago and no one in the family is very involved any more. I think they've been looking for an exit for a while. The Fikes are good people and have done a number of generous things in Temple.

And they have a sweet house on 317 that stands out like a sore thumb.

Awesome news! I've been in Cedar Rapids, IA for 25 years and we love Casey's. They will be a welcome site when we come down to visit my Mom.

This is great. Casey's is my second favorite rest stop...after Buc-ee's of course. They keep their stores in better shape than CEFCO and have much better food options.

Ha, yeah, that's a pretty little spot. But that place sticks out like a sore thumb along an otherwise fairly humble stretch of road in the McGregor - Moody - Pendleton corridor.

I just did a video call with the VP of Merchandising for Casey's today. Great chain.
