I don't understand the allure of those halls. It's a big food court with overpriced drinks and food. I feel like I'm at the airport or the mall.

At Union Hall there's no parking even if you're blocks away and there's not great seating. Who wants to walk 3 blocks for take out. I don't see it being around the next 5 years

It's almost like there is some magical 3 block force field that keeps people from seeing the parking lots across the street.

don't forget about the amount of people who live/work within 3 blocks of it that are already parked.

It's particularly good if you want Asian, your wife wants wings, and your kid wants a burger. I would like to see some better seating, but it's a quick bite/lunch place and not a date place.

I've also never had a problem with parking for a restaurant in my 35 years in Waco, so I don't know what everyone is complaining about there.
Noooo evidence for that, babeeyyy, just maaade it up.

Then you have clearly never had to park at Baris.

It's private paid parking and there's not that many spots.

It will be there in 5 years.

Places like this tend to do well in busy downtowns, especially spots with heavy tourism. Which fits Waco right now. And the tourism thing isn't slowing down in the next 5 years for the Silos.

I can think of plenty of these type of things across the country that have been around for a long time.

Go park your "look at me I'm a realtor" lease and walk 2 blocks and stop being a whiny heel. Probably help you out a bit.

I wouldn't recommend it, but I've parked there to eat at Maria's dozens of times without paying if the street parking is full.

I'm sure as downtown grows that'll come back to bite me eventually and I'll be proud when that happens.

I think they were a novelty at first.

I thought both venues were cool.

I wish they had more low top seating.

Waco is an older population with a lower per capita income than most markets its size.

I think cost and comfort caused the novelty to wear off.

I personally like the concept because you have a choice of vendors. I would love a place like UH or UG with a concert stage for live entertainment.
