Looks like a new effort to link local musicians with places to play. It looks like they are trying to collect a map of everyone in Waco that is in some way related to the music scene; places, musicians, instructors, etc.

Waco Music Census - https://www.keepwacoloud.com/census

Anyone know anything about this?

Where are the best places to catch live music? According to Spotify Wrapped, I'm into New Americana, Soul, Mellow Gold (Yacht Rock), and New Wave Pop (80's).

I looked through the Keep Waco Loud Facebook site and saw venues at Freight Bar, Common Grounds, Bridge Street, and Brotherwell. I also know about Backyard. What else is good?

I dont want to live forever.
But I will live while I'm here.

https://www.wacowise.com/new-events is a great place to look for live music. They make a daily Instagram post of what's happening in Waco that day, and often there is live music listed in places beyond the bigger, more frequently used places. They include one-time and annual events. Also, Brotherwell has pretty regular shows of various genres.

Riff Raff and Whirling Dervish were a lot of fun.

I liked to hit up Cue Sticks and listen to Vernon and the boys jam out for a bit.

I was in the Rock Band commercial music class one summer at mcc with the very kind (but scuzzy-appearing) lead singer from Riff Raff! His parents came to our class concert and they were the most preppy, clean-cut folks, and so proud of him. . Extremely surprising due to the general rough appearance of that member of that Sue's staple. Hopefully he is a mortgage broker or the like today.

Did you even Chelsea Street Pub, bro?

In simpler times before things got weird, Vern and the lawdogs used to commiserate over their shared affinity for the Second Amendment.

Kinda like the gentleman on the right from School of Rock is currently the district attorney for Tyler County, Texas.
