Baylor/Waco Announce $185 Million Basketball Pavilion

The anticipated announcement of a downtown basketball arena is finally here as reported by the Waco Tribune Herald today.  

• The seating capacity is expected to be 7000
• The project is expected to cost $185 million which will include $65 million in TIF (Tax Incremental Funding) from the city of Waco
• The $125 million from Baylor is expected to be financed without debt
• The venue will be available for concerts 90 days a year
• The facility will include dedicated state of the art practice facilities for men and women that will be available for the men’s and women’s teams 365 days a year
• Parking garages will be built close to the facility 
• This is expected to spark over $700 million in downtown riverfront development
