BF email went out late Friday afternoon. Selection process is going to be some time in mid-October. Finally has some hard numbers on seating and donation levels.

Total season tickets: 1171 Phase 1 and 4025 Phase 2 for 5196 total.

Total seats:

Courtside floor: 160
Lofts (like the loge boxes at McLane): 80
Club sideline: 750
Lower sideline (behind courtside students): 750
Lower baseline (end toward river I think): 600

So that's 2150 total lower level seats. Everyone else is relegated to the upper deck.

It appears I'm ranked in priority right about the midpoint of the total season tickets, somewhere around 2600-2650. Which means I'll get moved from my row 16 even with the FT line seats to somewhere in the rafters or the far corners. For a much higher price.

As far as students seats, they didn't give a number. But it looks like a couple hundred courtside, plus another 400-500 in the main student section at the baseline end toward U-P (I think). One change from earlier renderings is that they added more student seating at the top of the other baseline that was originally labeled as upper level seats for sale. Looks like maybe another 200 seats or so there.

Geewago raised the parking issue on the WBB thread.

Supposedly there are 455 spaces in the garage on premises. With season ticket renewals dropping off dramatically for WBB, it shouldn't be an issue for any at the $3,000 BF level and above to get into the garage, and a few at the $1500 level might be there as well.

But for MBB, there are 268 season ticket accounts in Tier 1, and another 232 in Tier 2 at $7,000 BF level and above. For some reason, 23 accounts at $5,000 and below gave the extra gift to "jump the line" for ticket selection, so I don't know if they also get parking priority. Either way, there aren't enough parking spaces in the garage to accommodate everyone at $7,000 or above.

At FC, there were enough spaces to give everyone at $3,000 and above reserved parking.

I also note that the usual graphic that showed the various benefits available at each BF giving level is missing from the BF website; all that's there is a "2023-24 Benefits Coming Soon!" Hmmm......

Wish they counted tuition. I would be sitting next to Drayton.

How about BU and the city just make it easy on all of us.... and run buses from downtown to Foster like they do on football Saturdays. Such an easy solution and so much closer than the FC and far less traffic lights to sit thru.

Oh, wait. This may make too much sense.

From the seat selection email:

"The Ferrell Center lot, street parking and public shuttles will also be an option on game day. Baylor Athletics is working with the city of Waco and one of the nation's premier planning and design consultants to create a comprehensive transportation management plan."

Aha. I was too grumpy after reading through the priority and seat selection to get to the part that says the parking garage is reserved for..... $12,000 donors and up!!! Everyone from $3,000 to $11,999 gets to park at....McLane Stadium!!!

To walk from anywhere in the McLane Stadium lots, one would first have to get to the sidewalk that leads to the intersection of MLK and I-35 near the north end of the stadium. From there, according to Google Maps, it's a 0.6 mile, 14 minute walk under I-35, across the river on the access road, down the slope, then cut across behind the Robinson Tower (without going all the way to U-P) to the front entrance of Foster. And that doesn't include walking from your car to the beginning of the sidewalk. Now if there's a second entrance to Foster fronting the riverwalk, that might cut 1/10 of a mile off your walk.

Use of the Umphrey Bridge is no help; it curves away from I-35, so even when you get across the river you're still a half mile from the entrance.

By comparison, the distance from the furthest point in the FC lots (back corner by the RF corner of the Ballpark) is 0.2 miles. The distance from FC to the 2nd Street parking garage that everyone who doesn't park at FC lines up for and waits...and waits...and waits...for a bus is 0.5 miles. So the closest point to park for everyone below $12,000 is going to be further that the furthest point anyone had to park from FC. That's gonna be loads of fun when it's 35 and drizzling.

I always stay at the Hilton so I will be making the walk from there, won't have to worry about traffic.

I'm Thursday the 12th right after lunch. I'm just past the midpoint of the BBF on seat selection.
