Heard Ashley say we have the #1 three point shooting in the country. Insane.

Bridges, Dennis, Walter, Nunn, Love all hovering at or above 40%. I'm sure these stats can be verified.

Not sure we've ever been this lethal from deep...and that's saying something.

And EJ has hit on 2 of his 3 attempts from deep.

Wish EJ would shoot that more! He's passed up a few open attempts when he's been in

Good call. He's worked so hard on adding that to his arsenal out of necessity. Such a quick release.

I think the reason our percentages are up this year is due to better ball movement. This year have multiple guys who can penetrate, create for others, and score in the paint or from the perimeter. In particular Dennis is amazing with his ability to penetrate and keep his dribble alive in the paint allowing him to hit open shooters beyond the arc. Last year our offense was outside-in, we struggled to penetrate so defenses could push our guards to half-court. Our ball movement was stagnant and we were forced to chuck up low-percentage 3s to beat the shot clock.

Couldn't agree more. We can score in more ways this year, including posting up in the lane, floaters and midrange. Transition seems to be a work in progress but is pretty good with better finishing. We are like a hydra this year. Any one of heads can bite you.

Another contributing factor is - unlike last year - having bonafide scoring threats at the 5 position (especially Missi & an improved Josh O) forcing opponents to have to worry about guarding us down low and thus diminishing their ability to run our perimeter shooters off the 3 point line.

Now you see why you take preseason previews with a grain of salt. Those best guards in the country lists weren't even putting Bu on the radar. The guards weren't even "projected" top 3 in the conference and yet nobody in the big 12 is all that close in top end potential at the guard spot. We have the best combo of guards. The ability to get clean looks because everyone can break down the defense is special.

We have the most talented player in the big 12 in Walter. Might be the best pg by end of year in Dennis. By far Best 6th man scorer in Love (maybe in the country). Great jack of all trades in Nunn. Excellent length, athleticism.. the potential is unreal. Our deep bench guys like Little and Grimes are actually good too. Not to mention by far the highest upside player in Missi.

Dennis is so good when not turning the ball over. Those skip passes and other variety of whip passes he does are pro level. I don't think casual observer understands how advanced and difficult that is to do. He's accurate on the pass too.. not just getting it to guys but getting it to them in a comfortable spot.

I think college teams also don't really know how to defend guards who play off the post up / back to basket. Its very effective as defenders don't see it that much. And to your point, him keeping the dribble in those tight spaces is huge bc inevitably someone opens up. Most college players don't have that type of patience.

You're getting me too excited about this season. Stop that.

The 3 game stretch of SH, Michigan St, Duke will be fun. If they somehow get through that unscathed they could realistically go well into Han before finally losing.

Natty team had 5-6 players shooting at 40+% from deep. They kept announcing it in every game. I think those numbers dropped off a bit later in the season, especially with the covid pauses.

I noticed that too. He's not the only one.
