National TV is right... yikes. Totally unprepared and no fire.

I feel like I'm watching the football team. If we lose this by anything more than 20 points, we will fall FAR in the ratings. Easily 10 spots.
The beauty of college basketball is that when the tournament comes around, Baylor will be a 2 or 3 Seed and Michigan State will need a play-in game.

The only rankings that will matter are the NET rankings, and we'll have ample opportunity to make our case in Big 12 play.

Don't really care about its impact on our ratings and more what it shows about this team…which is that they are a glass canon offensively.

It really is concerning the amount of ass whoopings Bu has received the last 2 years. When we get beat it seems to be an utter beatdown
Yeah my concern is that we are more like last year than I thought. I'm on record saying it would be really difficult for a team to make big runs on us due to the numerous players that can score and a decent defense. I'm not sure our defense is any better, though. Now doubt we are still a good team. I've just tapped my personal brakes a little.
The good news for me is that I expect the team to bring the intensity on Tuesday. I'll be there cheering them on.

The thing that most have overrated on this team is the bench strength. Outside of Love, who is an offense only talent and a very streaky offensive talent at that, there's really not much scoring potential from the collection of Lohner, Grimes, Little, Josh O, and obviously Jonathan.
Don't get me wrong. It's not a bad bench by any stretch of the imagination. It's fine against mid-tier opponents. Where it gets exposed is when you face a tougher and deeper opponent like today.

On the other hand, by the time we lost to Marquette we already had a loss to Virginia. This year we were undefeated before today. However, we still have yet to play a ranked team and last year we had a win over #8 UCLA. Also, we followed up that loss last year with the win over Gonzaga. Comparisons can be useful but they have their limits.

This Baylor team is significantly overrated. Their actual ranking will probably be around 20 by years end. Very prone to getting manhandled and they do not look like final 4 material to me. I saw a real lack of effort from the upcoming first round draft pick. One can tell he is more invested in securing his millions in the upcoming draft than putting up anything more than token effort defensively. It does not appear he wanted to win. And those who watched probably know the transition D play I'm talking about.
I knew there were going to be issues as soon as I saw (hit the) Rhoades sitting right there at the end of the scorers table where the TV would be the most on Drew. Dude always grabs the best TV-seat at nationally broadcast games.

I think a lack of focus and intensity to start is one of Drew's remaining weaknesses. 18 year olds can't be expected to know how to react to environments like this. They need leadership, a structured game plan, and to know how to deal with early adversity.
Through the Drew years this often happens, big deficits to start. Its like watching them pick up a basketball for the first time in a few days. They've seen it, been knocked down by it and lost, and have had many bus rides home thinking about what they'd do differently.
