Too early to tell but starting to have those hallmarks.

Maybe these losses will hurt enough to improve at closing out a lesser opponent

No one in college basketball looks like a second-weekend team right now. This team has Elite Eight or even Final Four potential in this year's tournament field. But that probably says more about the state of college basketball than it does us or the way we're currently playing.

Looks the same to me. We are a good team. Just lots of weaknesses to overcome to be great.

I agree. The good news is there are no great teams in college basketball this season.

The tournament is going to be insane this March.

Far too early to do anything but guess.

We've had some tough matchups in that second game of the tournament lately. I think this team may be able to get to the second weekend, but I'm starting to have a few doubts. I hope we have an easier route this year. It's still so early, so time will tell.

Worst shooting night in a while. Couldn't hit threes, free throws, layups, it just didn't matter. I dont think anyone had more misses than Nunn. He has been disapponting.

But the best defenses of the season. When our guys can do both well in the same game we will have more rice in their ability to win more & do well in March.

A sweet 16 appearance would be a good season for this team unless we get in a bracket with lots of top seed upsets.

Whatever our recruiting, development and coaching plan is since the championship year, it doesn't seem good enough to get back to the final four. I'm not sure what the solution is, but 1 and done players feel like fools gold except for the few elite ones that can dominate during their only year in college.

I agree with bear2be2 100% even though we disagree often. So much parity in college hoops that literally anything can happen. March Madness will be madder than ever. Our run will be very matchup-dependent.

Everyone's will. There's not a team in college basketball this year that would stay within 15-20 points of our 2021 squad.

That our fans are freaking out because we lost in overtime on the road to a likely tournament team at Kansas State while ignoring the double-digit beatdowns other ranked teams have taken at the hands of legitimately bad squads this year is funny. Just shows how little basketball a lot of these guys watch outside our games.

We're 0-3 in our last 3 tough road games. That's not cause for concern?

The road is a concern for everyone. Big 12 teams cannibalize one another.

UConn got housed by Seton Hall (who we housed). Purdue lost to Northwestern and Nebraska. Kansas lost to UCF. UNC lost to a mediocre Villanova team and lost its two biggest challenges. UH is 1-2 in its last 3. And that's the top 5.

Some teams feel better than we do over their last 5 games, but nobody is without question marks this year. Also, playing in the Big 12 is analogous to playing on hard mode while everyone else in the country is playing on medium. It's entirely realistic a national champ can emerge from this conference with a 12-6 league record. It's just that tough.

Look at how many ranked teams lost to unranked teams in the past week or so. About half of them & they were all road games. Houston lost twice in one week. This is what happens with this much parity. It's chaotic and can be frustrating for the fans. It's good for the sport with this much competitor because it tends to make everyone better and it's far more entertaining in general. It's also nice to know that the eventual national champion will not be chosen from a select list of traditional blue bloods as is the case with cfb.

Every conference cannibalizes itself during conference play unless there is one team that is dominant as Kansas used to be (& Baylor WBB). This is natural and also a good thing, except to the program taken off their pedestal.

We've only played two true road games and didn't play a single one before league play, which is a scheduling failure in my opinion.

We need to play better away from Waco, but playing on the road is tough for everyone in our conference. Just ask Houston and Kansas.

Not just the Big 12. About half of the top 25 teams lost on the road to unranked teams last week including Purdue, Clemson, & Arizona.

True, but it's especially tough in our league.

Yes it is! The Big 12 definitely is the toughest.
