Big 12 Conference Preview 2024-25

Baylor picked 4/16 in this conference preview which is the same placement as the B12 Preseason Poll with Houston, Kansas, and Iowa State above.

Edgecombe was picked as Freshman of the Year and article talks about combo of Roach, Nunn, and Love's three-point shooting. Has a projected starting lineup as well. Hopefully we can finish higher than #4, I think offense this season may be the best we've had.

Am I the only one who thinks we are being overlooked, for lack of a better term? I feel like this team is better than 4th, like FF material. Looking forward to the journey this season.

These types of articles really have no credibility. For example it says Love will start at PF on our team.

Someone in the conference has to be fourth. We could finish fourth in the conference and be a 2 seed. That's how good the top part of the conference is this year (and most years).

I do not remember Little transferring to Utah. That was a surprise!

I also thought Baylor's projection too low. At least it gives the team something to prove.

That's a bunch bull crap. This team will finish no worse than 16-4 and win the Big 12 by 2 games at minimum. The only way we finish worse than 16-4 would be if we had numerous injuries that knocked 2 or 3 guys out for extended times. Kansas will be the only team that gives us a scare for the championship. Iowa St will pull a fade this year and so will Houston. In fact I think Cincinnati will give Iowa St and Houston a run for their money as the the #3 or #4 spots.

First 3 spots will go to Baylor, then Kansas and then Arizona.

They are being "overlooked" to an extent yes. But it's bc the defensive coaching isn't trusted like Ku, Houston, Iowa st. Houston and Iowa St are high floor teams. Baylor is a high ceiling team. Most will defer to the high experience, high floor teams early.

Perception will wane until the D can become competent again.

The roster is one proven big away from the national title favorite in my view . As of now, title upside is still there. Just need to prove it. Josh needs to show continued development and Love stay healthy

I hope you are correct but I don't share that high level of optimism. I think the games in Ames, Manhattan, Provo, & Houston will be tough. Possibly Tucson & SLC as well. And we cannot count on winning all home games, although I would love to see that become normal. If I'm not mistaken, the only Baylor team to finish a season unbeaten at home was the natty team.
