Go back and check his career 3 point percentage in the Big 12 and against P4 teams vs. his career 3 point percentage vs mid majors. There is literally a 20% difference.boykin_spaniel said:

Injuries happen every year. Part of the game unfortunately. Roach went down and Wright stepped up and became a better floor general (not counting tonight). Love came back and looked really good, if anything he looks rustier this game

He's a career bum against power conference teams, always has been and will continue to be. Thinking he's going to suddenly play well when he never has is insanity

How do we miss on so many players. Do they look so much better before they land in Waco?

Hopefully we don't spend all our NiL on 2 transfers. Roster balance is needed badly. Roach cost over a mill and has played to a value of about 50k. Don't know what Celestine cost but I doubt he's earned his pay

The only teams we won't be more talented than the rest of the way is Arizona and Houston. That doesn't mean we'll win all of the other games. The other 7 assists and 15 TOs. Some of the TOs certainly due to UH D, but a lot due to careless, lackadaisical passes and dribbling.

Some. Some the staff probably thinks they can coach up. Maybe some said no so we kept going down our list until someone said yes. Omier was a great pickup.

Talent level doesn't matter much when you have 1 forward on the roster. We don't have enough talent in the right places.

Raises a lot of questions about adaptability as the landscape changes.
What exactly are you expecting Bu to do? This was a blowout waiting to happen. We have no size, we play zero defense, there's no bench, we're getting absolutely demolished on the boards. I have no idea why some posters still 25 games in think this team is even remotely good.

Some of the other perennial powers are asking similar. Welcome to modern day "college" sports. Pick 'em smart, because you have about 3 months and a season with em. Rinse. Lather. Repeat.
We got full value on Omier IMHO. Roach is the killer. We paid him to be a game changer and he's had good numbers but nowhere near what we needed. Hindsight says we could have gotten a PG who could have produced similar numbers to Roach as well as picking up a front court guy that was serviceable for as much as we paid singularly for Roach.IowaBear said:

I truly believe Drew will figure it out with the help of a good GM.
We have handled their traps pretty well but sloppy elsewhere

I almost hate to say it but hats off to Kelvin. Everyone said UH wouldn't be able to do the same thing in the Big 12 they did in the AAC, but I'll be damned if they haven't done it the first two years.
Yeah. I don't want to call him a bust because he hasn't been a bust relative to what he's always produced. He is doing basically what he's always done. So excited for Scott to keep blaming this on the injury bug that seems to be a unique problem to us and not his pitiful roster building and coaching
