We should probably beat a team with a pulse before we claim to be peaking. KSU is ass. Win tomm and you might be onto something

I'll take that as a no vote.

Take it as a not rushing to conclusions for beating a terrible team. A wait and see approach.

Would be really nice to notch season win #20.

This team's "peak" might be as explosive as a popcorn fart.

If we best Tech then the answer probably is yes.

We shouldn't confuse MBB for WBB. They are peaking at a great time despite the two recent losses to TCU.

We peaked against Houston where we really held our own and then we backed it up tonight. We now look like a real tournament team, and that's something I didn't think would happen. I thought we might make the tournament undeservedly, but these guys deserve to be in.

It all depends on how Roach and Nunn decide to play going forward. If they continue to play at the level we saw last night, we have a chance to be a semi-dangerous tournament matchup. If last night was a one off event, we'll return to being the deeply flawed, highly frustrating team we've been pretty much all season.

Either way, it's hard to say we're peaking when going into last night's game we were 3-6 in our last nine with no good wins.

Generally agree with Iowa (i. e. need to see more before concluding we are "peaking") but I do believe since the road loss to Cincy 4 games ago the team is steadily doing a better job of adapting to playing with the forced small (basically 4 guard) lineup and deserves credit for at least taking care of biz against KSU. We should get a better read on the possibly "peaking" thing against TTech tonight.

Don't want a peak to get us to an 8 or 9 seed.

KSU was 3-25 from three last night. They hit 7-25 and the game would have been extremely tight. They were getting good looks but just could not hit them. I don't think we will see that from Tech. They are a well balanced team.
I don't think last nights win was all that impressive. It was important to get in the tourney, but I will hold judgement until I see Nunn and Roach have decent games from a defense with pulse.
Also concerned about Love not playing except very early in the game yesterday. He looked like he tweaked his ankle on a drive. He is critical for depth. If he can't play today, we are not going to win. The big Croatian is out there to set screens only, and he is not even good at that. Clearly Asemota is not ready for any time, as he was firmly on the bench all day.

The best full game that we have played all year was most likely last night. Does that mean it was our peak? I don't think 1 game is ever a 'peak' (unless you are really bad and only have that 1 game that you bring it all together - maybe our 2nd half against Kansas was a peak)

The energy that we have played with for three consecutive games is probably the best energy we have had in any three game stretch all year. That probably means we are 'peaking'. The unfortunate feeling is that during this three game stretch, we lost to a top 10 team at home. The reality is that even at our best, we aren't a top level team this season. In truth, even making the tournament was an achievement this year. Winning a game will be overachieving. Making a 2nd weekend would be a miracle.

My vote counts as a 'yes'. We are peaking. Our peak is relatively low compared to previous seasons.

I would agree. Glad we are peaking now, but our best will only be so good. Still the fact we are capable of playing top 25 basketball is surprising to me. I'm wondering if Nunn has one of those switches that turns on come tournament time, sorta like Big Shot Robert Horry.

I hear you. 3-6 stinks. But I feel that 3 weeks ago we would have lost to Houston by 15.

I think this team was always designed to start playing its best ball in late Feb/March, but the Ojianwuna injury threw a wrench into things. It's taken us a few weeks to figure out what/who we are, but I think we're finally there.

With the right matchups, I think this is a second weekend team. Compare that to the past 3 year's teams, where we were essentially limping into the tournament after very strong regular seasons. As frustrating as this season has been, I'd rather be playing our best ball now for certain.

IMO, the most-important indicator last night was turnovers. We had only 6, which is far better than what we've seen in so many of our games.

Turnovers have killed us throughout the season.

On the other hand, KSU only turned the ball over 7 times. We need to do better than that defensively.

But we held them to 36.8% on 2-point shots and 12.0% on 3-pointers. And we only put them on the free throw line for 13 shots (of which they hit 11).

We've got to avoid turnovers against TT.

This is a great point. Looking back on the past 2 seasons we faded going into the tourney. This time, the silver lining is the Josh O injury happened early enough for us to recalibrate More than any other year I can remember, our tournament success will be matchup-driven.

My view is something clicked with Nunn against Houston and it carried over to the K- State game. Roach has shown flashes the last 3 or 4 games that he's shaking off the injuries. This puts us in position to win games that VJ doesn't carry us in.

We've peaked. Now we get to find out how far that can carry us.

Only on a Baylor board would we have a large contingent of the fan base claiming the Bears are peaking because they beat a 16 loss KSU team.

Team looks much better than it did 3 weeks ago, that's for sure. Don't know if that's peaking or not.

VJ and Omier are gonna be problems for any first round opponent. Unfortunately, I think we may have played our way into the 9 seed which means we're stuck playing a 1 if we advance.

Agreed. I think we're peaking. Our ceiling is just a second-round tournament exit.

If we win a tournament game, I'll be happy. But that's only due to the steady lowering of expectations throughout this season.
