#Baylor head coach Scott Drew said Mississippi State won't beat itself and stopping Josh Hubbard will be a priority, but he won't know a ton of the X's and O's until he starts watching the film. #SicEm

Any team on that 8/9 line is going to have major warts.Big12Fan2024 said:
Mississippi St is similar to us. For the most part they feasted on the bottom of the conference. They did have a win against A&M but that was one of the few against the top half of the SEC.

I'm not scared of Mississippi State at all. But I don't have a ton of confidence in our ability to show up and perform either.
Hopefully these guys surprise me and play their best ball on the biggest stage.

Said this on another thread, we are in much better shape going into the tournament compared to the past 2 seasons. The past 2 seasons we came limping into tournament playing banged up and injured. This time around, we are playing better than we have all season. Losing Josh hurt but we have everyone else back healthy. We have had enough time to recalibrate and have been trending up the past few games.
You can always lose in the tournament. I think everyone acknowledges that.Fre3dombear said:bear2be2 said:Any team on that 8/9 line is going to have major warts.Big12Fan2024 said:

I saw this also, kind of crazy to see a 3 point swing that quickly. I wonder if it has anything to do with Love being able to play, doubt it, but just seems weird for it to swing that much in 24 hours.

I am a new Baylor basketball fan, where I live I am not connected to the university so have chosen Baylor as my college hoops team. Pumped to see their journey through the tournament this year! Let's go Bears!

But there are matchups that are much tougher/scarier than others. I knew we were going to struggle with Creighton two years ago and didn't like the Clemson matchup last year, for instance.
I don't fear Mississippi State at all. They can certainly beat us. But if we play well, we should have a solid chance to win.

I know you've always been caught on Chery's miss and that certainly didn't help, but that didn't lose the game. What lost the game is that our guards over-rotated to the left in the zone and Medford couldn't get back fast enough to get a hand in RJ Hunter's face so it basically left him wide open just above the top of the key to hit the 3 point shot that won it.

I think we can both agree we never should have been in that place for either of those events to have a material impact on the outcome. There were issues throughout that led to that embarrassment.
