With the announcement of Baylor playing Louisville in Fort Worth and Arkansas playing Texas Tech in Dallas what's the latest scoop on Baylor playing at Arkansas either in Fayetteville or hopefully here in Little Rock

Washington can be:

1) simply a favor within the coaching community, or

2) a brilliant NET Ranking move.

Washington ended last year with a 12-18 record at NET 117 while Arizona St. ended with a 13-19 record at NET 74. The pathway to making an Away game at Washington a Quad 1 win is not overly difficult. Slight improvement by UW achieves the necessary NET jump.

The good teams will continue to play the other good teams on neutral courts to guarantee SOS and Quad 1 opportunities. Gaming the system to get 1-2 extra Quad 1 games (and likely victories) outside of conference play is smart.

Again, with the disclaimer that preseason polls and predictions are pretty much worthless, Washington is ranked higher than us in most of the early polls.

Doesn't playing at a neutral site also help NIL?

It can and usually does. But even the crazy universe of NIL has limits. The "made for tv" scheduling (sale) has a limit at some point and past that point H&H is the next option. With B12 dropping two conference games annually it is likely we should expect the quality opponent non-con to increase by at least one game. And with both the B12/SEC Challenge and B12/BE Challenge both gone, that change likely opens up the window for at least one H&H series annually (but guessing it hits 2-3).

I hope so. It would also be nice if the B12 could arrange a challenge with the ACC or B10. Even better, both.

I still want to see Baylor play major SEC & Big East teams whenever possible. We need to have a good resume before conference play begins.

Those days are over. Broadcasters paying bottom half of conferences no longer makes sense. Instead they form a NIL Tourney which features only the best teams.

Awesome news for those of us in the PNW. After investing in the Gonzaga game I have PTSD, but this should be winnable depending on who is on our roster. When I lived in Seattle we went to a couple of games there. Really great venue and atmosphere there considering the program has been bad to mediocre lately.

Seattle has a TON of basketball talent. Would be great to have that as a recruiting option.

Makes sense. I'm ok with that as long as Baylor is included.

I hate UW with a fiery passion. Lived in Seattle for over a decade and found their fans to be basically entitled UT fans but even worse. Loved wearing my Baylor gear in public in the months after we beat them with RG3 in the Alamobowl. POS city and fans.

The hall of famer Thomas was born in Chicago and played ball there through high school. We know him best for being the starting point guard for the Pistons playing with guards Joe Dumars and Vinnie Johnson.

They beat us a year before we won the national championship. Since it was basically the same team two years in a row, they beat our national championship team.

Washington beat Baylor in Anchorage, Alaska. We were ahead for all but the last few minutes. After that loss, we went on a 23 game winning streak including back to back wins in Lubbock (a year after they played for a national title) & Lawrence (our only win there). It is a Big 12 record.

The 2019-20 season was Baylor's best MBB season and the team was better the next year despite losing Freddie Gillespie and Devonte Bandoo.

I had heard that game got pushed back a year. And probably why we have the Louisville game in Ft Worth instead.
