Looking at the Baylor basketball roster for next year just for fun.

We will lose:
Yessoufou (starter)
JJ White (low contribution so far)
Agbim (starter)

We might lose:
Carr

Everyone else has at least 1 more year left! That's a strong team honestly if we can get a couple of guys from the portal to fill the gaps.

What do you think the starting line up would look like next year if no one left that had eligibility?

Rataj and Dkillings are both fine. This is a veteran roster.

Am I missing something?

Starters this year currently
Agbim - no more eligibility; will be gone in 26-27
Carr - increasing probability he will be gone in 26-27
Rataj - no more eligibility; will be gone in 26-27
Skillings - no more eligibility, will be gone in 26-27
Yessoufou - will likely be gone in 26-27

It's highly probable we lose all 5 "starters".

Bench
Williams - we'll likely have to pay a lot more to keep him in 26-27
White - no more eligibility
Powell - no more eligibility

We lose 2 of the 3 bench guys and will likely have to pay up for Williams if he continues to perform as he has thus far

Others
Iguodala - targeted to redshirt; unknown skillset
Perez - medical redshirted due to knee injury
Williams - 4 star freshman (joining next year)
Soyoye - targeted to redshirt;
Bodo Bodo - ????????

I think you are forgetting that Sr's have 1 more year if they want to play in college again. So players like Skillings and Rataj have one more year. You can see on the official roster below that players that have 5th by their name's are out of eligibility after this season.

Where are you getting this info that these guys have 5 years? This is in fact the last year of eligibility for both Rataj and Skillings.

Agbim will have another year due to the Pavia case….his juco year no longer counts toward NCAA eligibility.

Has the NCAA fully passed that yet? The Diego Pavia ruling was for a very specific timeframe. While there has been talk about making it permanent, I didn't think they had officially made that permanent yet but I could be wrong.

Maybe you are aware of something I'm not, but the 5 year rule applied only to those during the COVID years. The NCAA has talked about changing to a 5 year rule for everyone but I'm not aware that has passed. Rataj, Skillings, White and Powell all played D1 ball starting in 2022, which was after the COVID ruling.

Adriacus may have a point about Agbim because some of his years involved JUCO, but I'm not sure where you're getting 5 years for the others. But, then again, you may know something I don't.

Pavia case only applied to this season. But the attorneys amended it to a class action and if class cert is granted you can expect a class wide injunction similar to the Pavia injunction. Likelihood is about 99.9999%

Makes sense. NCAA has folded in pretty much everything so I can't imagine them being able to stand up to any other challenges.

How about a post about Baylor administration for 26-27?
That seems to be standing in our way for future success

December 15 is the date a federal lawsuit against the NCAA begins. Suit by group of former college football players challenging the 4 year eligibility rule. Report also indicates there will be no decision on a 5 year eligibility rule until after the lawsuit and after the House settlement is in place.
