Why are we so bad this year. I know we lost everybody from last year. Why? Do we not have enough $ or is Coach Drew not bringing in the right mix of players?

This is what happens when you have to replace the entire team.

But even then we expect better than this.

We did. Lesson learned. You need leaders.

Watching Colorado yesterday, I have hope for a few more wins.

Kansas State, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah will all be good shots at wins. Those teams are dreadful defensively, so they'll make us look like we have a clue what we're doing on offense.

UCF isn't very good defensively either, but they'll likely score at will on us.

Yeah I feel like the floor now is to get to five conference wins.

Maybe we thump KSU so well that Tang is fired on the spot and he can catch the flight with Drew and crew..."bring the band back together".........

How would that help? He's even more clueless than Drew on how to use the money he has to assemble a complete roster. He continues to make the same mistakes as Drew, paying 1 or 2 players everything at the expense of realizing you need more than 1 or 2 players to win in basketball.

Indiana replaced its entire team. Just finished knocking off #12 Purdue the other night and in the middle of the pack in the B1G with a 5-5 conference record. Drew hasn't forgotten how to coach. He just needs help from his assistants and GM keeping him on the right path in assembling the proper mix of a team.

It was more of sarcasm.....Tang is a better assistant coach.

Just so we're all on the same page we have a single guy on our roster making about 50% of UCF's entire budget.
The NIL budget as an excuse needs to die a quick death.

UCF had a few dudes from us Milwaukee making huge impacts for them. The issue with Baylor imo other than continuity is Drew and his staff now suddenly suck at identifying impact transfers aside from a few here & there.

100% agree. Gotta have some continuity but IHMO our bigger issue is with the regression we've faced is our inability to understand how to use our budget to create a team and our difficulty to identify impact transfers or overpay for the ones we identify so that we can't fill out the rest of the roster. As I keep saying, Drew hasn't forgotten how to coach. He's still stuck in the old world where recruiting actually mattered and just surrounded himself with a bunch of people who struggle with the change in the new world order of assembling a basketball team in paid college basketball. And it actually ties in with the continuity issue you brought up.

It's also about replacing significant portions of staff. A double whammy

Other teams have had replaced their teams as well..... and yet they are winning. So why are they able to do it but we aren't?

Well a big reason for it is because the people we got weren't as good as we were projecting. (Rataj is the biggest issue but there are a couple)
