Baylor 85, #6 Kansas 77 - the Bears debut on ESPN's Big Monday with a legendary ass beating of KU

Terry Black, DeMarcus Minor, Wendell Greenleaf, Greg Davis, Steve Othoro, Matt Sayman, Chad Elsey, and others built a 25 point half time lead as they destroyed a cocky Jayhawks team lead by Kenny Gregory...who stupidly said before the game (about 2 recent KU losses) "It's not like we lost to Baylor and a&m". Thank you KG, Terry Black had the perfect reply after the win. "It was a good win but its not like we beat Duke or North Carolina"

Remember that game well. We couldn't miss in the first half - it was amazing.

I remember the game well. It was not an ass beating. We had to hold on to win at the end as it got dicey until Matt Sayman made a big play at the end, if I remember correctly. But yes, we won. And Kansas did lose. It was the basketball version of Guy Morris' victory of A&M a few years later in '04. I haven't forgotten either game.

That game also help launch the prominence of Baylor promoting a "gold out" as the fans rushing the court in gold shirts was considered to be a good look.

These days, the only "gold outs" are the fewer and fewer fans shuffling out of Foster after another men's loss.

But reality is just too tough for many.

I still believe MBB will get better at some point. Drew will figure out how to make the portal work for him again. The culture of JOY will win out. We may never get another natty but we will have success in the Big 12 & March Madness. I'd be happy with S16 every few years and the occasional E8.
