The problem is that is before Saturday's game. If we beat Utah (which we should) and Ok State loses to UH (which they will), we end up tied with Ok State and get the #13 spot over them by virtue of our head to head win, which means we play in the #12 vs #13 game. That will be #12 Arizona St vs #13 Baylor with the winner getting 5th place Iowa St or Kansas (they're tied currently for 4th) in game 2. From a Big 12 tournament perspective, we'd probably be better off losing to Utah so we get the #14 vs. #11 game so that if we won that we would have an easier opponent in the next round assuming we get by the 1st round game.

The only way Arizona St moves from #12 is by beating Iowa St. at Hilton and Colorado loses at home to Arizona (which they most likely will). Then, Arizona St and Colorado would flip places between #11 and #12.

I think I got this right, but could have mixed up one.

Yep, you have it right. Hoping for an OSU upset over Houston in Stillwater.

Also, if it is true that Crown only takes two Big 12 teams in an 8 team field, how is that determined? My hunch is likely by conference finish, where they would take Cincy/WV/ASU ahead of us. Unlikely, but if they somehow go off of NET or Kenpom, we are ahead of WV and ASU.

Lastly, will our postseason hopes hinge on if they count our Arlington Baptist win?

If NET, which doesn't count that game, we will likely finish the regular season at 15-15, meaning our first round game in KC is a must-win for postseason hopes at all. Otherwise, we finish 15-16, which would be our first losing season since the 15-16 team in 2006-07.

I'd rather have the 14 seed honestly, but I can't think of a good reason why Oklahoma State should be seeded ahead of us with the same record.

Our scenario has already been solved according to his chart. We won so we are #13. The only seed waiting to be determined now is whether Tech is a 3 seed (if they win tonight against BYU) or a 4 seed if they lose.

No, but Baylor did make a huge run like 15 years ago as a low seed. Made it all the way to the B12 title game. Lost to a very good Mizzou team

That was the year we went to the NIT finals with Jerrells, Dugat, Dunn, Tweety, Rogers and those guys.

We went through really good teams from Texas and Kansas to get to the championship game and ran out of gas there.

That was the year I knew Scott Drew was a good coach. We made the tournament the year before but weren't actually very good. We got murdered by Purdue in the first round and then had a super disappointing regular season the following year playing absolutely dismal man defense.

We switched to a zone with our two 7-footers protecting the rim in the Big 12 tournament and turned things around instantly, going 7-2 in the postseason after closing the regular season on a depressing 2-10 run.

The following year, we added Ekpe Udoh to the mix and began our 15-year ascent to national prominence.

It's a shame we're in the rut we're in now because that was one hell of a fun ride. We'll need another similar turnaround to get back there.

I remember the Texas game clear as day! I was in Math for Living haha. Junior year of HS. My teacher was a huge sports nut. He was enamored that I was a Baylor fan . We had the game on during class and he let everyone spend the 50 minutes chatting while a group of us watched the game

Nice. The thing I remember most is Dugat went off in that game. It was his last really good game as a Baylor Bear, and I remember being really happy for him because he had had a tough senior season to that point.

I think we could win a couple if we play well. But I can't see us playing past the quarterfinals in the best case scenario.

Big 12, I don't think so. But years ago Georgia won the SEC with a losing record. I think they went to the NCAA with 15-18 record or something like that.

Big 12, I don't think so. But years ago Georgia won the SEC with a losing record. I think they went to the NCAA with 15-18 record or something like that.

Didn't the aggys at least make it to the SEC Tourney Championship game without a bye a few years ago (they lost to I think Tennessee in the finals)?
