For as long as the UNC coaching position lingers without being filled, I am afraid that they will go aggressively after CSD. I know some here would be happy if that happened but I, for one, would be very unsettled.

If you think you want Scott Drew gone, I have to ask, who would replace him? It's taken UNC quite some time to find anyone of value interested and you think someone of value would come running to take over Baylor's position if CSD leaves? You're crazy.

I know that there is a lot to this, like his buy out being one of the cheaper options and also with us only having a few returning players and low on recruits for next year etc. It would be different if those two truths were different and the buy out was over 10M and we had an outstanding class coming in next year with returning players but neither are true.

Anyway, I really hope that CSD does what he has always done and passed on any offer they make.

It's lingering because it's Billy Donovan on their radar and the Bulls season isnt over yet.

That's why you've seen all these coaches re-up and/or say they're staying like Lloyd, May, Golden etc

McCasland and others would be on their list before they get to Drew.

One dark horse candidate is Mike Malone former Nuggets head coach. Has a daughter at UNC on volleyball team.

There is a similar thread about this posted a few months ago - let's not rehash this conversation piece. Drew isn't going anywhere because any desirable alternative is not going to hire a coach on the downward trend or pay more than $5m a year for a barely over .500 record. Drew is at Baylor until he decides to retire.

As the '21 Natty continues to age more and more with the subsequent record of 2nd round Tourney exists capped by a .500 failure to even make the Tourney field this season, it seems to me Drew would at best be a difficult sale to UNC's fanbase - given the blueblood expectation level there. Hard for me to see how at this point he would even be in single digits on their wish list.

The worn-out question often posed in athletics is "If Coach ______________ left, who would replace him/her?" is the most inane question imaginable. Its entire goal is to obfuscate, and obfuscation never advances anything. Which at BU is often the goal.

It's interesting because all the comments I continue to see and hear are that Drew is the one seeking out UNC and has been vocal about it this weekend. Gotta love this time of year. So much misinformation floating around.

If they offer Drew right now, it means they're settling. I still think they want Donovan and then several other names before Drew.

UNC would be incredibly dumb to even consider Drew right now. That is unless they're fond of garbage defense and yearly roster overhauls.
Drew would also be dumb to consider UNC. He's got it made here. He's never getting fired. Seasons like the last several are getting his ass canned in Chapel Hill

I don't hate Drew. Never have. And those that post regularly on here know this. Nothing I've said about CSD this season is wrong.
Am I wrong about his defense?
Am I wrong that his program is now revolving door? ( his fault) he's admitted as much
Am I wrong that his last several seasons wouldn't cut it at UNC?
None of those statements are wrong. Been a long time fan of Drew. But his coaching and roster construction deserve serious criticism
By the way. The thoughts I have are posted by like 85% of this board. You must think damm near the entire board hates Drew

Correct. This fanbase tends to have an overinflated sense of how the rest of the world perceives our players and coaches. It's just the truth. Case in point, all the people who swore up and down that Sawyer Robinson would be a first round pick this year, and the person on here who tried to bet me money that Blake Shapen would win a Heisman at Mississippi State (he knows who he is)

May end up being a great hire (you never know) but sure seems like a new AD who panicked when the school's fan base started getting antsy after Lloyd and May both said no and he felt he couldn't risk waiting and potentially getting a No from Donovan too, which would have really set the fan base on fire after him just as he replaced Cunningham as AD.

I don't believe that Drew was even in the conversation for the role. That means, no phone call made to the office...

When the search committees for these schools gather in a room, Drew isn't a name added to the "board'....it's a "Hey, Nice guy but past his prime" type of response. I don't get why people don't understand that...It's been an amazing run but Baylor won't be playing in an Elite 8 or Final Four under Drew again....
