I still don't understand why Baylor hasn't sued BYU for tortious interference with their contract. I would love to see the contract or better understand why they didn't do it. The lawsuit writes itself after the results of this season. There's also no reason to fear PR backlash at this point, with all the other lawsuits that have been filed.
If it helps explain it further, don't forget we're the morons that nuked a nationally relevant football program over a made up "scandal" because Texas Monthly and UT told us to.
As I understand it, BYU denied knowing RW3 had signed an agreement with Baylor, so tortious interference might have been a difficult thing to prove. Also, there is the question of what comprised Wright's would-be compensation, i.e.., revenue share vs. pure NIL incentive which would not be guaranteed by the University. Finally, the choices Baylor had was to go after a fellow conference school, which would have been a political nightmare, or go after a former player and family, which would have damaged recruiting. The reality is, this was a problem the Big 12 should have resolved. When there is a dispute between conference schools, it is the job of the Conference to step in, otherwise, what exactly is the point of being in a conference?
