Beartruth13 reminds me of Kim Mulkey who goes around telling her supporters and the men's basketball players that they will never win a conference or national title because she dominates in an uncompetitive sport where programs just literally check the box so they can comply with Title IX.
While I realize comparing women's bball to men's bball is an apples and oranges type thing, I get tired of people trying to minimize Kim Mulkey's incredible accomplishments as if they're really nothing which is usually done in an attempt to prop up Drew's (to date) lack of championships (other than the who cares NIT) or final four appearances. The lady is phenomenal and I have give her tremendous credit for the fact that since her arrival we've become true nationally relevant players in multiple sports in addition to women's basketball. She deserves nothing but our respect and gratitude for what she has done for BU instead of assuming we dominate in women's bball simply because nobody else cares.
The only time anyone brings up Mulkey on the men's board is to make or refute the type of inane comparison we see in this thread. If you want people to stop talking about Mulkey here, stop invoking her name as though her record at Baylor is in any way relevant to Drew's.

Kim Mulkey may very well be the best coach for any sport in Baylor history--at least in terms of accomplishments. This does not diminish what we have had (past or present) in terms of coaches in other sports--including Scott Drew. In due course, he will no doubt get for us a conference championship and a Final Four appearance. We just have to be patient. It's not like it's easy to do or there aren't a couple hundred other teams trying to do the same--and many with the possibility of success. Look at Texas Tech in 2019.

Fozzie is the one that "invoked" her name. I was just responding to the disrespectful way he invoked it.

I never ever thought we would win a Big XII Championship in football and we did it twice - almost a third time. So, I'll never say never again.

Why is there this crazy panic all of the sudden? We played the worst game in a calendar year today. End of story. It's college basketball and that happens to every team, every year. Usually multiple times. Baylor, literally, played it's only dud all season. Washington was fine until the end (also early) and we played good enough to beat 95% of all other teams against KU.

What makes me think we can beat TT and WVU? Is this a real question?

This is right, I think lot of fans aren't really aware of what other teams are going through this season. The way Baylor has taken care of business most of this season is not the norm in college basketball. Baylor has yet to lose a game by more than 1 possession, how crazy is that.

The real villain is Fozzie not Johnny Bear. Anyone who has been on this board for any length of time knows that Fozzie will insert a dig at Mulkey almost every time no matter what the real topic of a thread. Why can't we devote this thread to our tremendous mbb team, this great season, and a terrific effort in beating Tech tonight? Why? Fozzie won't allow it.

99.9 percent of all Mulkey references should be confined to the women's board. A) Her name has no relevance to the Baylor men's team or men's basketball in general, and B) the vast majority of mentions from both sides are made in bad faith.

Kim Mulkey is an elite women's basketball coach and deserves to be celebrated as such. Those trying to paint her as more or less than that here are both in the wrong.
