Definitely not a nothing burger. Dude was hammered drunk. He's lucky he didn't hurt anyone or get himself killed.

I agree the punishment will be insignificant, though.

I mean of course the crime isn't just a nothing burger. I was speaking purely on the punishment.

Sad. The man is a very talented coach & made a terrible mistake that may ruin his career. And to be honest, it would be deserved. He's just lucky he didn't kill someone.

Does he regret putting innocent lives at risk? I don't look for basketball coaches to be moral exemplars, but I do look for them not to engage in risky behaviors that endangers lives.

Nah...shouldn't ruin his career..the head coach of the NBA champions Bucks got one and it didn't ruin his .

We have an assistant coach in football with one that a lot of folks wanted to get the job when Rhule left.

Assuming he's learned his lesson and doesn't repeat offend, he'll come back from this. Shoot - look at Steve Sarkesian. Even Biily Clyde Gillespie is still coaching (granted it's Tarleton State, but he is still coaching). Few is fortunate he didn't injure or kill anyone - that would've obviously been a completely different story on a number of levels, including his future.

One person escaping justice does not Jean others should. Imagine if the offense was murder or rape.

Where did I say they should or did escape justice? Both my examples above paid their price.

I said it shouldn't ruin their career.

Good suggestions to call Uber or a friend.I would add that Coach Few has a staff of 6 fulltime assistants-operations guys who could help out.He also makes 7 figures annually.

Valid point. However given the nature of his decision and influence he has minimal punishments may not be enough.

He never should've gone out and gotten drunk in the first place. That was his greatest lapse in judgment.

So, basically 6 beers in a 2 hour period. there a lot of folks on this site who "attempt" to do that pre/post game...People make mistakes each day - higher profile people get those mistakes scrutinized more than the every day Joe.

there is nothing wrong with going out and getting drunk as long as you are safe. Alcohol isn't evil and nor is being drunk.

As someone pointed out, the warn 7 figures each year. Considering their high salaries they should be held to a higher standard, especially considering their leadership positions.

Alcohol definitely is not evil when taken responsibly. Getting drunk is irresponsible & foolish. Driving while drunk is reckless, dangerous, & potentially deadly. We should throw the book at drunk drivers. It should never be tolerated.

well then don't come to any tailgates then because we are getting wasted at all of them Saturday. Can't wait till we sell beer at games which is happening in the next 10 years. Can build all kinds of things with that revenue!

What is irresponsible about getting drunk? If you have a plan to get home safely, that sounds pretty damn responsible to me. What is foolish about it? You are assuming anybody that gets drunk is going to go do something that you disagree with. That is simply not true. Sober people do stupid things daily.
