Somebody help me here, because I can't find it. Click on either of these hashtags and you can't find anybody calling for Nicki Collen to be fired (from Baylor anyway) and searching any similar hashtag came up dry. Can't find any forums about it on here either. So…where is this mysterious group of people begging for Nicki Collen to be fired? Are they anywhere outside of our own imaginations?

Any thread with the term "fire" associated with Coach C should have an auto delete.

I'd start by looking at the source. He lives in la la land. There's been a ton of back in forth on here about CNC but I haven't seen anyone call for her firing which would be asinine 18 games into her career

It's a transparent straw man, and it has been going on for months. Some people are dead set on claiming that there is this giant group of Baylor fans who despise Coach Collen, want her to fail, and want Baylor to lose games. Then after a win, they come on and beat their chests, and scream "oh, how do you like that!?", but it goes nowhere other than into the wind, because literally everyone on the boards is celebrating the win.

Do these people need a villain to motivate them, therefore fabricate one when none materialize? Do they need to feel superior, but can't attain that feeling if they acknowledge that they are not rare and unique individuals for rooting for the Lady Bears? Do they truly believe in the false dichotomy you must either love Collen and hate Mulkey or love Mulkey and hate Collen?

Your guess is as good as mine. I'm skeptical it's going to end any time soon, though.

Agree stupid tweet. But there are tweets by at least one other person claiming CNC said something similar. Hopefully she was misquoted. The playing victim thing isnt really a good thing and anyone who is misquoting or falsely stating she is saying these things should be ashamed.

If she said it with self deprecating humor however that is another thing entirely.

It's very clear to me that she merely was being playful and making a small joke.

There was a subsequent interview she did -- perhaps on Sicem365? -- in which she explained that it was intended as a joke.

Many jokes have their basis in fact. Certainly not everyone agreed with this poster but someone felt the need to start a thread after the two losses. Fire Nicki Now If you aren't a Premium Subscriber, you may not have seen this thread. Not everything has its origins on Twitter. So this may be the background to her comments as well as what T-Rex was referencing his his tweet.

It's the stupidest damn thing I've ever seen. You root for the coach that stands on our fields, sidelines and courts. Unfortunately, some out of this group couldn't do it for our former coach and if you rooted for her while she was at Baylor you were labeled to be in some cult. I root for every coach at Baylor and if they leave I want to beat them if we ever oppose them.

Agree with this. I think CNC was just having fun at her own expense after losing a couple of games early on. I appreciate that.

I think this whole forum needs to lighten up a bit and not twist everyone's comments into some divisive warfare.

I thought it could be hyperbole. It doesn't matter. Even if no one here is calling for her to be fired, she has gotten lots of criticism around here, some quite silly & unmerited and most unrealistic.

Nikki gets better each game.

As Bum Phillips (I think) once said, "there's two kind of coaches, thems that's fired, and thems that's gonna be fired," or something like that...

All coaches, especially at this level, must have a thick skin to criticism, it is part of the job. Some will think it is justified, and some will think it isn't. Over the last many years, I have read many Fire Scott Drew quotes on the other forums. Don't see those anymore.

I don't recall any group suggesting that CNC be fired.

If you go back and look at some of the replies on twitter (ToBaylor WBB tweets) after the losses, it may not be tagged #fire coach nicki, but the language and wording of some of the replies clearly communicate the sentiment.

We Baylor fans are so spoiled by the success of coaches like Briles, Rhule, Aranda, Mulkey, & Drew. We can expect to win every game and we get impatient if things aren't going our way! It's an enviable position but it's not always realistic.

This is all true. Baylor has proven it can win big time and should expect to. The FB team has won the Big 12 championships with 2 different coaches and played for another with another coach. Mens Basketball just won the NC and is competing for another. WBB has shown you can win Big 12 Championships and National Championships. So many of our sports are excelling and winning at high levels and have become more of the norm than the exception. This isn't the Baylor of 20, 30 or 40 years ago we are competing and winning in multiple sports at the highest level. This should be our goals and should be the standard moving forward.

Nobody wants CNC to fail and nobody I know or talk to wants to fire CNC. However, there is a certain segment of the Baylor fanbase who didn't really care much for Mulkey or WBB to begin with and/or believe our AD hung the moon and is above reproach and they have decided to take a sudden interest in WBB all the sudden once Mulkey left, and questions arose about Rhoades and Mulkey's relationship and what efforts were made (or not made) to try and keep Mulkey at Baylor. People from this group now chime in and post things mostly to agitate the WBB fan base who above all want to see Baylor WBB be successful. To these people any questioning of Rhoades or his actions is perceived as an attack, any defense of Mulkey is seen as disloyalty to Baylor, any questioning of or criticism of CNC or her coaching is seen as "Fire CNC." Most of this group never were WBB fan and still aren't -- many of them have ended their posts regarding WBB topics with "nobody cares it's just WBB anyway." They have turned CNC into a representative of their adoration for Rhoades and created a false polarity whereby Baylor fans are either for with CNC/Rhoades and against Mulkey or with Mulkey and against CNC/Rhoades. Every Baylor loss this year has been accompanied by a chorus of "wouldn't have happened if Mulk was here."

Mulk is gone. She left us. But it seems like anytime this current squad doesn't do well, it's those who are ready to pounce who bring up Mulk, not the other way around.

It would be nice if Collen received support her first year here, but we know that's not the case. There were plenty who wanted to fire Aranda last year. It's always easier to coach from the couch.

Collen receives much support here, I'd say that's what must people do. But there are some people who like to nitpick, or coach from the couch, & it's often petty, silly & wrong. I half-jokingly describe some of our posters as frog or cow trolls because they are so often negative.

i live in Keller, im not sure where la la land is.

clicking the hash tag isnt going to do much for ya because 99% of the negative comments towards cnc havent used that hastag. but i have seen more comments saying to fire her than i can begin to count. go to the teams fb page and click on any of the posts after the losses. And the 1 thread on premium that someone referenced above was by no means the only time someone has said she needs to be fired on here. And i have spent countless hours going back and forth with the fire nicki folks as well as just observing the tweets over on my twitter. just on sunday alone i spent over an hour back and forth with someone who said they are never going to like nicki regardless of what she does because she is replacing kim.

i have a large following, i get tagged in comments all day long by folks and people comment on my posts during games ect. just because you have not seen a fire nicki post does not mean they dont exist. But im on team nicki so i dont need to prove anything lol. And my tweet has nothing to do with cnc post game comment. i honestly forgot she even made that comment. idc if team fire nicki is 2 people. my tweet still holds up because those folks hate to see her win as is the case anytime someone you hate succeeds
