Maybe a good way to move on is to affirm and be grateful to Coach Mulkey for what she did here and bless her in her new position.

In addition to that, affirm that despite a lot of skepticism and criticism from more than a few here, CNC has done a tremendous job taking us forward, despite the said skepticism and criticism.

As in football, there are multiple ways to be successful in basketball. Mulkey presented one way. CNC presents another.

I liked Mulkey's fire and passion. CNC has the same, but expressed differently.

Why not celebrate both?
I absolutely agree! with the spirit of this Post!

See bold above...I just don't think she has faced an abnormal amount of criticism or skepticism from fans in general or on this board.

Has she faced some?, absolutely but my gosh if you post or read on any other thread you will see some pretty wacked out criticisms from some on here about any of our coaches. It is what fans do...I can't hardly read game threads because of some of the harsh, childish and stupid things people will post about Coach Dave, Coach Scott or Coach Nikki during the heat of the moment watching the games.

Guys like AP and sicem 45 have some sort of weird obsessive hate for Kim which in some cases pre-existed the coaching change...and they have tried their hardest to make it all about Kim and tearing her down to the point of claiming anyone who defends Kim hates CNC...which is just not true for most.

CNC has pressure she identified it before the season started...no doubt about it but overall she has won over most fans and certainly her players so we are good...now if she loses and when she loses there will be criticism, that is just normal but most are not doing it for some sick desire to see her fail it is just the normal reactions we have as fans who want to and expect to win every single time we play...any sport.

Dude…….this is exactly what YOU do all the time when people criticize CKM. 1000% YOU. I cannot believe you of all people are calling someone out for "dragging us down and trying to distract to your personal agenda".

This is hilarious. So now that we know you don't like it will you promise to stop doing it to others? If not you've just proven yourself the biggest hypocrite on the board. Thanks for posting this!!!

I do not understand the purpose of such a negative thread surely intended to divide our loyal fans the week of the BIG DANCE. Why? What purpose? How is this supportive of our team? Haven't we talked about this subject matter enough?

Proposal to all- give divisiveness a rest until we either win the tournament or get knocked out. Those who need to can find their boxing gloves where they left them and put them back on.

Expending negative energy-especially at this time-is so exhausting and defeating.

I don't live in Waco and for a couple of years we haven't been able to go to games as we once did. I am not plugged into anyone at Baylor.......bottom line.....all I hear about Baylor athletics is what I read here, get from Smoak's show and whatever I hear on game broadcasts or read in the DMN. So, I have no real insight.

I am disappointed if the current staff has taken the brunt of ire some have toward Baylor administration in their belief all of this is on them because KM is no longer coaching here. If such attacks, for lack of a better word, have occurred, that is absolutely out of line. They had nothing to do with the change. I have to believe that enough filtered to the team and the coach for her to end up crying in an interview. She doesn't seem like a person who easily gets shaken. If any of this has gone on, it needs to stop now. Otherwise we risk running off the person that has been able to keep this ship afloat. Then we will all likely go down the WBB toilet. We hit the jackpot (apparently) with football coaches twice after what could have been the death of the program needing a recovery that some of us would never live to see. Trying to do it twice in WBB would be pushing our luck.

Expectations also need to be toned down somewhat, IMO, to today's reality of WBB. Someone earlier mentioned people comparing CNC's success to Mulkey's while she was here. That is not going to happen, IMO. At this point, Mulkey will not meet her own past success to the level we have had over the last almost two decades. That is not a shot at Mulkey, but is the reality of WBB today. We got our first championship in 2005 when you only had to beat one or two really good teams to get to the FF. It wasn't too much different in 2012. Today the game has changed. You start seeing teams who can certainly beat you in the S16. If parity had not been creeping up, we likely would have won a couple more national championships between 2013 and 2021. IMO, the goal should be to remain at or near the top of the conference and make a deep run in the NCAA tournament with FF appearances on a par with other elite teams. Once you get there anything can happen. If you expect more, you likely are not going to get it......and neither is KM or anyone else for that matter. There is just too much parity now.

We are in a good place. We need to wholeheartedly support the staff. If you are a KM fan and want to continue to wish her well, please do so. But we don't want to screw up what we have now with actions or words that probably need to be left unsaid or undone, and if taken are directed at the wrong people.

We aren't risking running her off. CNC is making 4 to 5 times what she was making in the WNBA and if she becomes really successful here she'll make 10 to 12 times what she was making . This program is a blueblood and had talent on it that most any coach would be envious of. Nicki knows what a plum job this is all she had to do was turn around and ask her husband. Tom was a WBB HC for 16 years, won 1 conference championship, played in 8 NCAA tournaments and only played in 1 sweet sixteen game. So no matter what line of BS people on here want to spew about how easy it was to win in WBB in 2000 to the present just go ask Tom because it wasn't and isn't. Some coaches just make it look easy and that get's taken for granted by some.
For anyone saying anything negative to Nicki in Waco they need to keep their mouths shut and let her do her job to which at this point she has done very well.. Nicki's tenure will be defined when she has all of her players and has her system fully in place in the next couple of years to which I'm really looking forward to. Hopefully BU WBB will have much continued success well into the future with CNC at the helm.

Every Baylor fan except perhaps a few outliers-a very few-are behind CNC. Why focus so much of our attention on those few? We have banged around for ten months why Mulkey left and whether it was good thing or a bad thing. For gosh sakes, let's move on. There is nothing left to say about it.

We knew whenever Mulkey left Baylor there would be an adjustment period. The good news is we are through it and on the other side. Why discuss it all again? What is the benefit.

Except for the fact that Mulkey has a competitive 3 seed team-I would have no reason to think about her at all now. I have no ill-will-she just isn't our coach anymore. She had huge success here-and was paid well for it---but she is gone.

I am sorry you believe I am similar to AP...while I am sure in my history of posting I have likely attacked or criticized someone or something over the years that is typically not what I do....I have and will defend folks who are in my opinion being unfairly attacked. And I get that sometimes my stubbornness drives others to distraction.

I am never personal or crude about it...I maybe a bit snide and critical of some posters ability to frame coherent thought...(never you) I have even praised AP for his basketball contributions to the WBB side especially, just never have cared for his attitude, smugness and downright hate for Kim though.

I am sure I will continue to pop up here or there and aggravate you and others because my opinion may be against the flow, but I truly just want folks to hear it, if they ask for it and if I think a thread has just derailed into an all out attack of someone who I deem worthy of defending.

But the vast majority of my posts are reactions to other posts not me pushing a specific agenda or theme.

Wow - There sure is a lot of utter crap, untruths, exaggerations, arrogance, and grandstanding in this thread. On both sides of the argument. I had nowhere near enough popcorn with me when I started reading through this.

The reality is: the future of Baylor WBB will really be told starting with next season. Next season, when the best player in the nation (arguably) is not on your team shouldering the load.

That's purely a case of a narrative created by a cadre of premium posters who had no arguments to defend their positions in the CAB debate. You are simply perpetuating that narrative here by blindly parroting it. Eball has constantly agreed with criticisms that were warranted, laughed at clever jokes made at those coaches' expense, and done so in a good-natured manner. Just because Eball was a voice of reason in a sea of groupthink, he was targeted. Even when posting an affirmative note about a red-meat subject, some member of that group undoubtedly makes the obligatory "eballed thread" post and it is sickening that Bears would do such a thing to another obviously proud Bear.

There is no comparison between what is posted here by AP vs. Eball. One is filled with vitriol, while the other leaves room for understanding of the failings of the human condition when it comes to BU coaches, players and administrators. It's not hard to figure out which is which.

So this season doesn't count? Give me a break. CNC won the conference with a 7-player roster, and her new style of play will allow Smith to be the No. 1 draft pick this year. Trying to swat it away doesn't make it go away.
