"Iowa State's Stephanie Soares (player) and Texas Tech's Jasmine Shavers (freshman) captured Big 12 women's basketball weekly awards for the third week of the season. It is the first career honor for each player.

Soares led the Big 12 during the week with averages of 21.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game as the Cyclones competed at the Phil Knight Invitational. She had 23 points, 11 rebounds, six blocks, three assists and a steal in an 80-49 win over Michigan State, shooting 71.4 percent from the field in the contest. It marked just the fourth 20+ point, 10+ rebound and 5+ block game in ISU history, and first since 2015. The So Paulo, Brazil native followed up that performance with 19 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and two blocks against No. 8 North Carolina.

Shavers averaged 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds as the Lady Raiders notched back-to-back wins in Las Vegas. Shavers scored 13 points on just seven field goal attempts, draining three 3-pointers and grabbing seven boards in Tech's 72-67 win over Middle Tennessee. The Mesquite, Texas native made her first career start in a 78-66 win over Mercer, scoring 21 points with seven rebounds. Shavers needed just 19 field goal attempts to score 34 points on the week."

Oklahoma State's Taylen Collins (player) and Baylor's Bella Fontleroy (freshman) were bestowed with Big 12 women's basketball honors for week 4, as each posted double-doubles in team wins.

Collins scored 12 points with 23 rebounds in the Cowgirls' 82-64 win over North Texas Saturday. Collins' 23 boards matched the OSU single-game record and are the most by a player from a Power Five conference in the 2022-23 season. The Muldrow, Oklahoma native made six of her seven shots from the field and added two steals. It is her first career weekly honor, and the first for an Oklahoma State player since the 2020-21 season.

Fontleroy scored 17 points with 11 rebounds and two assists as Baylor defeated Houston Christian 79-35 Sunday. The Springfield, Missouri native recorded her first career double-double, as she scored 17 of the Bears' 29 bench points. She went 6-of-10 from the field and 3-of-6 on 3-pointers as she secured her second weekly honor of the season.

Kansas IS good and well coached. CNC commented on it last year that she has respect for the way the KU coach runs his sets.

Arizona has not really played anyone in their first 7 games to test them so, this is not too big of a surprise.
