Dec 2, 2019"Oklahoma sophomore guard Taylor Robertson and Texas Tech senior forward Brittany Brewer shared Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors. For a second-consecutive week, K-State's Ayoka Lee was tabbed Freshman of the Week.
Brewer led the Lady Raiders to their first tournament title in five years at the San Diego Thanksgiving Classic with wins over San Diego and Purdue Fort Wayne, as she averaged 15.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game. The senior tallied her fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds in the victory over Purdue Fort Wayne. In the 64-60 title game against San Diego, she came up clutch as well, adding 16 points, nine rebounds and seven blocks.
Robertson registered back-to-back 20+-point performances last week, as she scored team-highs against Abilene Christian (21) and Wichita State (30). Against ACU, Robertson hit seven 3-pointers, going 7-for-12 (58.35) from beyond the arc. Robertson scored a career-high 30 points and knocked down nine 3-pointers at WSU. Her nine treys were not only a career high, but matched a school record set in 2009.
Lee garnered Junkanoo Jam All-Tournament Team - Bimini Division honors for her post dominance against Memphis and Michigan State. During the Junkanoo Jam, Lee averaged 18.0 points on a .789 field goal percentage, 10.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks. Against Memphis, Lee paced K-State with 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Against 15th-ranked Michigan State, Lee set career-highs in every category as she tallied 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting and a 6-of-7 effort from the foul line, 13 rebounds and six blocks.
The weekly award is the second for Brewer in her career, second for Lee this season and first for Robertson in her career."
