Feb 24, 2020"TCU's Lauren Heard earned her second Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week accolade, while K-State's Ayoka Lee garnered her sixth-consecutive and 11th Freshman of the Week award.
Heard led TCU to a pair of wins including the Horned Frogs collecting their 20th victory of the season and a school-record 11th Big 12 win. The junior averaged a double-double on the week, pouring in 16.5 points and grabbing 10.0 rebounds. She tallied 20+ points for the 12th time this season, with a 25-point effort in TCU's come-from-behind win at Kansas State. Additionally, she pulled down a career-best 15 rebounds and scored eight points in TCU's home win over Oklahoma State.
Lee averaged 20.0 points on a .731 field goal percentage (19-of-26), 13.5 rebounds and 4.5 blocks in contests against TCU and Texas last week. She tallied a pair of double-doubles to improve her current streak of double-doubles to five, tying the school record for consecutive double-doubles. She also established a freshman school record with 282 rebounds. Against TCU, Lee registered her fastest double-double of the season, reaching the mark with 6:56 remaining in the second quarter. Lee would finish the game with 22 points on 10-of-14 shooting, 17 rebounds and six blocks. At Texas, Lee led the Wildcats with 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting (75.0%), pulled in 10 rebounds and blocked three shots in 39 minutes of action."
