Sad to say, but I bet she doesn't make it past first year or two. Just a different game in wnba. Athleticism is key.

I don't see her making a roster.

ASHLEY DAVIS
New Assistant Coach
April 12, 2023

A member of the staff at Oklahoma State for 6 seasons
Davis makes her return as an assistant coach after spending the past two campaigns as an assistant at Arizona. This past year, she helped the Wildcats to their third consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and the program's fifth consecutive 20-win season. Arizona was ranked for the entirety of the year, climbing as high as No. 12.

Davis' first stint in Stillwater
concluded in the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament and saw Natasha Mack become the program's most recent WNBA Draft pick as well as the WBCA and Naismith Defensive Player of the Year.

During her six seasons at OSU, the Cowgirls earned three NCAA bids and one WNIT berth. She helped coach four All-Americans, five All-Big 12 selections, three WNBA Draft picks and five 1,000-point scorers during her time in Stillwater.

A native of San Antonio TX
Davis was a 4-year letter winner at TCU and was twice named an all-conference selection. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2005 and received her master's in educational administration in 2007.

6 potential candidates for the open Wichita State WBB head coach spot
April 13, 2023
Taylor Eldridge, Wichita Eagle

EXCERPTS
It is unclear what kind of coach Wichita State AD Kevin Saal might be targeting to take over the program, but here are six coaches - five assistants and one sitting head coach - who could be options for the Wichita State open position.

TARI CUMMINGS
Baylor Assistant Coach & Recruiting Coordinator
Cummings has developed a reputation as a top recruiter in nearly two decades of coaching experience. She has been an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Big 12 power Baylor since 2021 and has plenty of experience in the region with previous stops at Cincinnati, Houston, Arkansas and Tulsa. She has three years of experience as a head coach ... Division II alma mater, Arkansas-Fort Smith ...

JHASMIN PLAYER
Oklahoma State Associate Head Coach
Oklahoma State head coach Jacie Hoyt is a former Shocker player, but it's unlikely she gives up a Big 12 gig one year in to return to her alma mater. Instead, WSU could pursue her top assistant coach, Player, who appears to be a strong head coaching candidate.
A former Baylor standout Player has enjoyed a quick rise in the coaching world since retiring from her playing career. She has also been an assistant coach at SMU, Kansas, Loyola Marymount and Maine and has developed a reputation as a strong recruiter, particularly in her home state of Texas.

WBB Signs Belmont Forward Madison Bartley
The two-time all-conference performer joins the Bears after spending three seasons at Belmont. Baylor women's basketball head coach Nicki Collen announced the addition of Madison Bartley to the program on Thursday.

"We are so excited to welcome Madison and her family to the Baylor family," Collen said. "Madison is a winner on the court and in the classroom and is grounded in her faith. On the court, she is a versatile post player who scored consistently around the rim while also stretching the floor to the arc. Off the court, our fans will love getting to know her as she has an incredible passion for people."

A native of Kettering, Ohio, Bartley was a two-time first team all-conference performer at Belmont. In her three seasons with the Bruins, Bartley averaged 11.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, making 87 appearances for the Bruins. As a senior, the 6-3 forward contributed 14.1 points per game, shooting 51.3% from the floor, while averaging just over five rebounds per contest.

Bartley helped Belmont reach the postseason all three seasons, with back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2021 and 2022. She became the Bruins' 34th 1,000-point scorer in Belmont's WNIT opening-round game against Ball State in March.

Bartley was rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 12 player in the country at her position coming out of Kettering Fairmont High School. She helped her team to a 25-3 record and an OHSAA Regional Final appearance her senior year.

1992-98 BAYLOR ASST COACH

Larry Tidwell joins the Texans as an assistant coach, where he will lead recruiting efforts and development of the post players. He brings to Stephenville a 47-year coaching resume, including seven stops as a head coach.

Tidwell most recently spent a season at ULouisiana-Monroe as Chief of Staff for the women's basketball program. There he oversaw junior college and international recruiting, plus led community and campus outreach efforts, among several other duties.

Tidwell has been involved in coaching collegiate basketball for 30 years, 28 spent at the NCAA Division I level. He's served as head coach for six seasons at Lamar (2007-13), head coach for five seasons at UTRGV (2013-18), associate head coach for eight seasons at TCU (1999-2007), associate head coach for one season at Kansas (2019-20), assistant coach for six seasons at Baylor (1992-98), and chief of staff for a season apiece at Texas Tech (2018-19) and ULM (2022-23). He also served as head coach at Dallas Christian College (2020-22) for two seasons.

The six-time Hall of Famer has also served four stints as a head coach at the prep level, three for girl's basketball teams and one for football. He was the head coach for eight seasons at Schulenburg HS (1984-92), the head coach and AD for seven seasons at Frisco HS (1976-83), the head coach for one season at Mexia HS (1998-99) and the football head coach plus AD for one season at Lexington HS (1983-84).

Tidwell is one of five to be the winningest head coach at two different NCAA Division I institutions, winning 128 games at Lamar and 85 games at UTRGV. The other four are Gary Blair (Texas A&M and Arkansas), Chris Gobrecht (Washington and Yale), Jane Albright (Northern Illinois and Wisconsin), and Rick Pietri (South Alabama and Jacksonville State).

Throughout his coaching career, Tidwell has directed and organized over 200 basketball camps and clinics, plus has traveled to 40 countries to promote the game. He volunteered for the Naismith Foundation in which he helped grow and share the game for eight years.

Tidwell has helped "turn around" several programs upon arrival. At Dallas Christian, the Crusaders had not had a winning season since 2004-05, and in Tidwell's first year, they went 15-10. In his lone season at Kansas, he helped the Jayhawks to their best record in seven seasons. UTRGV had 30 consecutive losing seasons prior to Tidwell's arrival and were a game away from going .500 in his first year, one of only two losing seasons in 22 years as a head coach.

AT BAYLOR
the Lady Bears had seven consecutive losing seasons and an RPI of 312 prior to Tidwell's arrival in Waco. As the first full-time assistant in the history of the program, he helped guide the Lady Bears to the WNIT.

The Sanger, Texas, native, has been inducted into six Hall of Fames; the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2022, the Lamar University Hall of Fame in 2022, the Austin College Hall of Fame in 2014 for his career achievements, the Austin College Hall of Fame in 2010 for coaching, the Austin College Hall of Fame in 2004 for playing, and the Sanger High School Hall of Fame in 2003 for playing. He has also won numerous awards, most notably the TABC NCAA Division I Women's Coach of the Year twice in 2015 and 2010.
