Never thought about it but her teammate is committed to Louiville already. So they may have came in the back door at the last minute.

That would totally stink as long as we have recruited her.

With so many spots open, I would not be surprised at all if we offer, she accepts, abd redshirts her first year because if the knee problem. I understand she has a very high motor on the court, something Kim likes....like K. Wallace.

Taylor Chavez is supposed to take her official to Baylor this weekend too.

There is a high probability of Bickle and Chavez giving their verbal to Baylor. Based on what information I have the situation with DeCosta gives Baylor a good chance, Egbo is still up in the air with the Lady Bears and the Longhorns. Williams is a reach, not so likely. But Scott-Grayson is a terrific player and we may have a real shot at getting her. She can play both the 1 and the 2 at a very high level.

With DeCosta, Williams, Egbo and Scott-Grayson still out there, with any one of the four coming to Baylor we will have a Top 5 Class. If we get two we are Top 3 at the worst. Smith may turn out to be the best player in the 2018 Class when we look back in a few years. At least one of our more informed posters has expressed this opinion.

I continue to be be thankful for the hard work and terrific results that Toyelle Wilson and Sytia Messer have given us over the last five years. Two terrific additions to our Coaching Staff.

Nothing to do but wait. Pale Rider will put in a good word for all of us.

Bill, have you seen Chavez play, either in person or on video? We recruited three guards last year, four if you consider Didi as a SG, should we get another forward like DeCosta or Smith capable of swinging over to the SF slot to enhance our rebounding against tall front lines. If Honesty should choose Baylor, it would appear that we are getting a bit guard heavy, assuming that Landrum and Chou are ready to challenge for major minutes.

Unless Chavez is a major prospect, that would be an interesting take by the Lady Bear staff. Arizona is not known for its high level of women's basketball, but these two are at or near the top of their list of prospects, though Bickle appears to come with some question marks physically. She has summer camped with Baylor a time or two, so the staff knows her game very well and doubtless thinks that her injury is not going to be an ongoing problem. She is a heady player with a good skill set, but I am not sure of her position at the level of Lady Bear basketball, though SF seems to be the most likely one. I don't know anything about Chavez.

With 15 scholarships, women's BB can afford to have specialists.

Chavez [and to some degree Bickle] fit(s) the "shoot teams out of zones" role.

If she turns into a Plum, all the better.

The current situation is that we (Baylor) have a good chance to get this young lady. Nothing else

Setshot................I have not watched Taylor Chavez in person. That is the best view by far. Watching her on line, she looks very promising. Most likely a 2. But the true test is how does she perform against highly ranked players. That I have not seen.

When I watched DiDi Richards play against Top 20 talent, she was great at both ends, especially on defense. A super 3 who can play the 2 if needed. No doubt about her. Morris is so quick with the ball, very explosive and a force to deal with, she is a 1 only.

Smith and Honesty are terrific players, I really like their game against other outstanding talent. They can play multiple positions very well at both ends.

DeCosta is a great player, best at the 4. Queen Egbo is very talented, better at the 4.

Williams is more a 1 that would be very good at the 2 as well.

Flexibility is good.

I have seen videos of Bickle, and she has a very nice shooting stroke. If she can build on that at Baylor there is no question that she would be an asset.

Natalie Chou has as fine an outside shot as I have seen at Baylor since the days of Emily Niemann, but then I have seen no one really comparable to Emily. Natalie will terrorize some teams this year, and in her final two years should build a great resume as a shooter. I don't think Bickle is likely to be in her class in that regard, but I liked her overall game. Again, I don't know the extent of her injury status, and I am not sure how she measures up physically at the defensive end.

I will just have to wait and see on Chavez, assuming that she is offered and accepts....If she is a shooter of quality, that is always an asset. The problem will be to get another post player of enough capability inside that teams will have to sag in and open it up for our perimeter shooters. Cox has three years, Brown two - and no one on the horizon in their category. With the game becoming more and more dominated inside by height, Baylor needs to locate and successfully recruit another quality post player 6'5" or taller sometime in the next year or two.
