My understanding from someone with knowledge of the situation is that Kentucky will not sign Edwards waiver. I have no idea as to why or the circumstances surrounding their decision.

Sounds to me like those responsible for eligibility compliance needs to be fired with cause and competent replacements be secured. No excuse for awarding scholarships to those who cannot or will not be eligible. If the problem is on the transfer university side withholding eligibility, then some recourse should be sought as needed or indicated.

It's colege athletics and there are rules to be played too. She wanted to transfer. Just because us fans expected one thing, I think it's foolish to assume the staff wasn't fully aware do what was expected. Don't point fingers, there are four pointing back and it makes you sound like a whiner. She'll okay she approved based on the rules that everyone adheres to.

This sounds like a coach is being stubborn and hard headed just because she can.605Bear said:#FreeDree pic.twitter.com/fRhfg4mo8J

Elzy needs to amend her statement. "Sometimes I like to empower women. Other times, I like to keep women under my thumb, even if it benefits me in no way, just to show that I am exercising power over them."

I feel so bad for Dree. I have no idea what Kentucky gains by not signing her release form. Has any other coach done this???
This interview was inspirational. I don't know what went on at Kentucky and all of us have done things we come to regret later. Dre came across as a mature thoughtful young lady with a sweet spirit. It is good to see a person maintain a positive attitude in the face of disappointment. I don't know why KY hasn't signed the waiver, yet, but I hope their reasons aren't vindictive. In any case, I am so happy that Dre is a part of the Baylor family. I sincerely hope that she maintains her great attitude. I hope she gets to play sooner rather that later. Hope is one thing but I am convinced that even if she never play a minute of basketball here (heaven forbid) both she and Baylor will profit from her time here!605Bear said:

Coach Elzy should know that the "Bank of Karma" has a ZERO balance…..
"Several coaches familiar with the situation pointed out that while yes, this was the necessary form, signing it is routine in both the men's and women's game, though not all thought that meant Elzy should automatically do so. Everyone from Taylor Mikesell to Chrislyn Carr, who transferred from Baylor among other schools during four collegiate stops, have made this move without any issues raised by their former coaches."ScottS said:
UK is saying that the form they were asked to sign was not correct. Question....is there more than 1 form to allow the player to play for the new school?
Massengill was a grad transfer I believe, which makes a difference.Dcheetah said:
Jazmine Massengill is playing in games for Florida State
And Treasure Hunt is having a pretty good season for Arizona State so both are playing and yes, Massengill was a UTenn to KY to FSU transfer and would have needed and received the same 4x4x4 transfer waiver that Dre needs. This is pure punishment.
