I'm not quite as dumb as I seem
Why would any objective person think any different? When CNC came in our HS recruited freshmen and sophomores were almost non-existent. The only one that stayed that didn't have a foot out the door as soon as Mulkey left (and before CNC was hired) was Sarah. The roster was top heavy with upper classmen and transfers. Our primary guards the previous two or three years were graduate transfers. Bottom line our roster infrastructure was not distributed across academic classes well at all. We got some jewels in last year's class and have a big coming in next year. Yes, it takes some time with a new staff.HuttoBear said:
Knowing "your stuff" want win you any NCAA tournaments. Must have players who want to execute "your stuff". Hope for the best for CNC but it will take several years to have a team that can compete.
They're competing now, despite all the setbacks they've had for the last 2 years.HuttoBear said:

So you're comparing years 10 to 20 of a well established program led by a "hall of fame coach" to year 2 of a new coach just beginning to establish her system that's dealing with injuries & other setbacks?Bear2393 said:
Not competing at the level that Baylor is accustomed to. They lost more conference games this year, than what the previous hall of fame coach lost in her last 10 years combined at Baylor.

3- 4 five star players that your "hall of fame " coach very rarely put them on the court for meaningful minutes despite double digit leads in most games and in the case of Jaden almost no minutes at all and as a result were unprepared to play D1 ball. Thanks KimBear2393 said:
She inherited 3 1st round draft choices plus about 3 or 4 five star players.

She did the same thing the other day she did all the time at Baylor. Leading by 20 + with 2 + minutes to go she still had her starters in and left 5 recruits sitting on the bench with 0 official minutes at the end of the game.
Your hall of fame coach got lucky in the portal with Chloe because of DiDi's friendship with her and that led to Cooper because of Chloe's friendship with her.
Meanwhile the high school recruits are basically being ignored. One high school recruit signed in Kim's last two years who then wanted to be released from her commitment and when Kim left, she got the release she wanted - coincidence - I think not.
Based on what she started to say after the Notre Dame game before McKenzie interrupted her, I think Kim knew her days were numbered and as a result whoever took over was left with no depth, little experience behind Smith and Egbo (who by the way had a few choice words for her former coach on Twitter).
Your information about signing only 1 high school recruit in Kim's last two years is wrong, she signed Hannah Gusters and Sarah Andrew's, both top 20 players in the country in the 2020 class, the girl from Arkansas was the one that didn't come after Kim left. Kim is not lucky signing top recruits or transfers, top recruits enjoy playing for "winners" and Kim is a winner. You can bad mouth her all you want but she brought 3 National championships to Baylor University and I can't count all the Big 12 championships she won and more importantly she stood up for our university when no one else would. There is nothing lucky about her recruiting or coaching, she is damn good. I am proud that she was our coach for 20 years and if you aren't, that is your problem.
