Clark had an off night and Iowa had no answer for Lee! Go big 12!

Only SC looks invincible so far.

Only 2 original Top Ten teams left without a loss...SC and UCLA

I love it when Iowa loses. They were so condescending when LSU lost to Colorado so this loss is hilarious to me.

I believe 8 of the original preseason top 10 have already lost. Does this prove parity as many are contending or does it prove how stupid it is to rank teams based on the voting of arm chair point guards? At least Utah and LSU lost to very good ranked teams. UCONN & Iowa lost to unranked, and IU even lost on their home court. But then again perhaps K-State and NC State were very under rated. EH?

NC State picked up some very good players, despite finishing low in their division last year. Ayoka Lee not 100% yet, and I'd forgotten KSU has Gabby Gregory from OU as well .

I think it's both parity and armchair point guards, and both theories are impacted by transfer portal.

Parity is impacted by transfer portal because decent players who might otherwise be on the bench at one program are leaving for other teams and more playing time.

Armchair point guards have a harder time ranking teams when there's so much more turnover with transfer portal, because there are going to be surprise teams who make a leap with one or two key transfers.

One more impact of transfer portal. When teams are turning over half the roster with new transfers and Freshmen, their quality of play in November/December is probably going to be inconsistent as they are figuring it out. The quality of play in Jan/Feb/Mar will probably settle in and be more predictable.

If you can somewhat contain Clark, you can beat Iowa, they are pretty much a one-man band. It's one thing I like so much about this year's Baylor team is we have so many weapons and can get scoring from so many different people/positions. We are very versatile and deep.

Big 12 garnering some nice preconference wins. Will help all of us in rankings, etc, when we play each other in conference.

Especially when we start beating each other up in conference.

How does Iowa only drop to number 5 after a loss like this. If you can shut down Clark they are clearly not that good.

If Lee is healthy she will be more than a handful for us. I don't know that Letyis ready for extended minutes against her yet, maybe later in the season, but Dre's craftiness and team defense may carry the day. Anyone recall if Kayla matched up against her last year?

I believe she suffered a season-ending knee injury in the summer and missed the entire 2022-2023 season.

Yes, torn ACL . The previous year she put up 61 on OU. She's still playing limited minutes, but she'll likely be back to full form by conference play. TCU also has 6'7" Sedona Prince, transfer from Oregon.

Ill add more to this, dree Edwards had to guard 6'5 Aliyah Boston and 6'7 Kamilla Cardoso, for that sec championship game and she did amazing, so made it so hard for them to score on her the whole game. She also had 27pts, 9rebs because she had a advantage over them, driving to the basket, shooting threes, making them, and midrange shoots were falling.

Those players are more skilled than Ayoka lee to me, so i think dree I definitely prepared and ready for the challenge against players like Ayoka lee, and Sedona prince.
