Love the banter between Sarah and AB. I am still laughing at a video a while back where Sarah was miked up and Aijah said she was a better defensive player than Sarah was and Sarah shot back "you couldn't guard your own shadow" and Aijah just flashed that big ol grin of hers and kept riding on the bicycle.

Interesting comment on Yaya wanting to be good and coachable !

Now I know what to look for vs SMU if Jana gets some minutes - I hope she steps up to the task and earns some more trust and minutes.

I think Jana is averaging about 10 pts & 9 assists the last 2 games; if she can keep that up the Lady Bears will be golden.

The real question for Jana is whether she can still be effective against teams that can use a significant size advantage against her.

Size and her ability to effectively and calmly handle press coverage. If she can play similarly we will have something. We will know heading into league play if not before.

Jana has been electric in the last two games. Every time she touched the ball, it was a fast break party waiting to happen. Felt like the players on the floor were running and cutting a little harder to find the lanes for her passes. The ball had energy, and moved quickly around the floor; it was beautiful to watch. Over two games she had 17 assists in 43 minutes, and shot 5-8 from 3 point line (62%). Extraordinary.

Sadly, also misleading, because the defense played by McNeese and Alcorn was a ghost town, especially when they went to their bench. Many times Jana would bring the ball up the floor with no defender within 10 feet, giving her unobstructed views for those gorgeous passes. Coach NC got it exactly right in the press conference, noting that the next step in Jana's development and earning playing time is to prove she can still be productive with on ball pressure from a longer and/or more athletic defender. It's been a struggle for her in the past, but her ball handling and passing in the last two games were a positive step for her as she continues to transition to a PG role. Hoping she can make that leap against pressure D, because she's such a weapon from the 3 point line. She's always had a beautiful stroke, but last year often looked rushed. This year she seems to have found a much better rhythm, and confidence, so she's shooting an outrageous 62%.
