I know there are a lot of Mulkey detractors, but there are definitely places she worked hard to do things that benefitted her program. One of those was hitting every RotaryClub, Lion's Club, etc in the very beginning. Women's basketball still needs a lot of dedicated promotion.
I was wondering about this aspect. Reality, whether fair or not, is that the women's basketball being highly ranked does not translate to automatic ticket sales in the same way it does for football and men's basketball.

Does anyone know what the differences are in Collen's efforts to market to the Waco community compared to Mulkey's?

Time in service is a part of it…Kim built over decades. Seemed to focused the most on season ticket sales and realy hit donors. NC is active in building the student following. She engages the players with the general student population. Seems to be no end to a coaches job. Would like to see that effort rewarded.

I don't know about the community but I know she is working students. She was in my daughter's accounting class early last week talking about the team and answering questions.

We can only speak from our personal experiences. Our 3-generation families have been donating to BWBB since 1990s when we had losing teams. But we noticed huge change in year 2000 when aggressive promotion of WBB program, season tickets for home games and fund raising. Promotion of WBB skyrocketed. Our families were convinced to donate more over the years and to attend the home games. You couldn't say no. We still donate to our WBB and support Coach N, but noticed the past 1-2 years there is less communication, less attention to fund raising for WBB.

She was in my daughters Mass Comm class doing the same. That was the picture you saw last week on twitter.

She is. My daughter has seen Nicki and the players multiple times on campus. Says they are all so nice and friendly.

How much overlap is there between the BB season ticket holders that frequently didn't show up for games in the Ferrell Center and got mad at spectators that made too much noise, and the BB season ticket holders in the Foster Pavilion?
