My personal opinion is that they won't make it. What do you think?

Clark absolutely will. She's a generational player.
Reese not likely as she has no Jump shot. She is however a hell of a college player

A better question, closer to home. Will any players currently on our roster make the WNBA?

Clark and Reese will play in the WNBA.

Clark will…and will for many seasons
Some team will take a chance on Reese…but she won't last long
I don't see us with those believed to be leaving. At best a invite…like Bickle

My guess is that Andrews, Edwards and Blackwell will either get drafted or signed to a training camp contract. Edwards is a long-shot, but still the best shot to make it out of training camp because of her versatility. All three will have successful overseas careers.

Yes, both will play in the WNBA. Clark will be #1 pick, but she won't have it as easy in WNBA as in college, since WNBA players are bigger, faster, and more physical. She won't be the main/only focus on WNBA team like she has been at Iowa. She is a rare scoring talent, can score from anywhere, not just from 3-pointers. But WNBA says she needs to improve on defense.

Reese predicted to be 1st round pick, between 6-11. WNBA general managers and scouts have said: "Her size and athleticism give her a significant advantage in the paint, allowing her to excel in rebounding and shot-blocking. Love her leadership, how hard she plays, her high energy, and her competitiveness."

Clark will have a career so long as she is able to get a bit bigger. She will get bumped around a lot more on both sides of the ball than she does now. Sabrina and Kelsey Plum struggled with the transition of the game, but both adapted and are great players now. I can see the same for Clark, it just will take some work. And I'm not entirely sure how well she'll do on defense. That will be tested.

As for Reese. She'll get drafted and make a roster. I don't see her being a difference maker Her outside shooting will have improve as she is undersized for a post. I give her 2-3 years before going overseas. College game works to her strengths a lot more than the professional level.

Words about Reese are direct quotes from multiple WNBA GM's and scouts. They seem to think she will do well. It's going to depend on the team who drafts her and what their needs are. Don't think she'll be one of the best players, but WNBA people say there is a need for her skill set. Reese and Clark will attract a lot of media attention that WNBA desperately needs, and increased ticket sales.
If Reese leaves WNBA, she won't need to go overseas to make extra $$. Shaq advised her the WNBA is only part-time summer job. The rest of the time she devote to either sports broadcasting or modeling. That's her plan.

Does Andrew's have another year available to her?If so I think she should stay at BU and try to return to peak form.IMO there is no way she makes a team in the W this year. Some NIL $ could sweeten a deal to return.

A year won't change that. Sarah's a solid solid CWBB when's she's on her game. But nothing about her game translates to the WNBA

Why? Lately we have seen some of the top college players get cut their first year in the WNBA. Like the one from LSU that followed Kim there. Can't think of her name right now. But I do remember how it created talk when someone tweeted how veterans needed to retire to make room for the rookies and how there needed to be more teams, etc.

Of course that all led to the discussion of poorly supported the WNBA is and how that is the bigger issue

Alexis Morris was a great college player.. she's not in the same stratosphere as Clark.

like their coaches in that way, oh the drama.

clark will have a long wnba career if she wants one. she'll make a ton of endorsement dough. she's not only a generational talent shooting the ball but is great dishing dimes as well.

reese, who seems like a nice woman off the court - smart, articulate, funny - well, she doesn't have a jump shot. develop that and she'll find a place.

i don't watch the wnba or nba at all. i find them both tedious and boring. so what i write has little critical value as to the gals' futures.

As to Andrews,I mostly agree with IowaBear. When she is on her game I would describe her as better than solid solid but that is mainly semantics.I too don't think her size and game translate well to the W even when she is at her best. However a strong performance next year might yield other better basketball opportunities. And,I think she could be a very valuable member of our team next year while she earns additional credits(another degree?)while on full athletics scholarship plus NIL $.I was on the law faculty when Sune enrolled in the law school. That worked out well.Back to my original question, does Sarah have another year available?

I believe she does (Covid yr?)…but I don't think she has it in her. One more year won't make a difference IMO
This year has seemed to be a real struggle for her.

If she is completely healthy another year could help her get noticed by the W or overseas teams.

Clark may be the greatest shooter in women's history but she's not even close to the best overall player ever. She's Curry not Jordan.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yes, they both would have made it based on skill so I don't want to take anything away from that. But, at the same time, they would both make it at least for a few years based on Q Rating alone. They are two of the most recognizable and marketable women's basketball players to the masses, and at the end of the day the WNBA must always look for ways to expand its outreach and market its product.
Jorkel
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yes both will. Clark is smart and works hard she will figure out the WNBA. She can shoot from anywhere which is going to give any offense spacing.

With two more years at Baylor (or a more successful D-I program), maybe Littlepage-Buggs and Fontlroy could have a decent shot at being drafted in the 2026 WNBA draft.

Clark and Reese will get drafted high, guaranteed, and stick at least 2 seasons in the WNBA based solely on their D-I success. Beyond 2 seasons at the WNBA level is completely on them to prove/earn at the big girl's table.

Name 5 players in the woman's game better?
I'm not even a CC fan but her game is unreal. She has over1000 career assists to go with all those points. That's the definition of all around player

The question isn't about Clark's ability, which is off the charts. The question is about the ability of her opponents. Think about the best individual players she has gone against this year. Now imagine a WNBA team with 12 of those players on it. How, then, does she compete? That's why college success, however out-of-this-world it may be, is never the best predictor of WNBA success.

IowaBear
How long do you want to ignore this user?
CC will have success in the WNBA. To say otherwise is just ******ed.
And I'm not a CC fan as mentioned above. But anyone thinking she isn't gonna make it in the WNBA simply isn't paying attention to how dominant she truly is
BUatbirth
How long do you want to ignore this user?
CC is a generational player…not debatable. Every team puts their best defensive player on her. She schools the best they got. Love her or hate her…she'll do the same in the W….IMO

Five is easy: Taurasi, Griner, Swoopes, Maya Moore, Stewart. She may fall into the bottom of the top ten but she isn't the defender or the champion to put at the absolute top.

I expect her to be good I. The WNBA, but i was reacting to the recency bias of claiming her as the best.
