Utah beat Iowa State 75-67. I will say Kennady McQueen for Utah went down and put no pressure on left leg late in 4th quarter. She was grabbing her knee. McQueen is a double digit scorer on the season. It is something to monitor.
Gavin Petersen says Kennady McQueen’s injury is a high-ankle sprain.

Says he expects to have her back this season for the #Utes.
Isn't it odd how the transient property doesn't work out in sports. At least that's how some folks word it. BU went to KU and posted a very solid win. KU goes to OSU and beats them. OSU comes to BU and and makes them look bad. But this is how it works when everybody in the top 6 to 8 of the conference are pretty much equals. For many years it wasn't that way. We lost a few bummers every now and then but for the most part it was dominance. Often times winning the race with as many as 4 games left. That was fun if you ask me. TCU or KSU may do that this year. They seem to be a cut above at this point. But WV, UT, BU, OSU & maybe even ISU could do some major spoiling. By the way, How many of ya'll plan to make the BIG 12 tourney this year? It's just become an annual tradition for me.tmcats said:
watched most of #11 tcu's 80-73 win @ku this afternoon (1/8/25). ku has a transfer from ndsu (elle evans) who is a really fine addition complimenting their s'mya nichols. they will be a tough out particularly in afh.
tcu had all they could handle but 6'7"sedona prince (30 pts/14 boards) was just too much with the other talented girls surrounding her like haley van lith (19 pts). tcu is now 16-1 with the loss being to #2 south carolina and best win over #3 notre dame.
There has always been a bias or opinion that the Big XII was a weak conference. It showed when NCAA seedings came out. Baylor winning the conference by 3 or 4 games would often get a 2 seed. But it was probably justified as in some years the conference teams were really not good and it didn't help with our sisters-of-the-poor OOC schedule. It also didn't help when our highly ranked team got bounced in the SS or E8.Dcheetah said:
If TCU has wins over Notre Dame and North Carolina State and now Kansas and is 16 and 1, this shows some bias against our conference as they should be ranked higher. The one loss was a beat down against South Carolina, but that team is beaten down a lot of really top teams in the last few years. They won the Notre Dame game fairly convincingly. Texas lost to Notre Dame and Oklahoma has two losses with three good wins but neither team has a better win than TCU and I believe TCU should be right above both of those teams.
"best" would be a better word than "major." leading scorer at 17 per game.BUVA said:

k-state got in their face defensively and the utes went complete discombobulation. that's the key to shutting down their 3-point game. good luck. utah fans not a favorite with me.blackie said:They play in Waco in 5 days.tmcats said:"best" would be a better word than "major." leading scorer at 17 per game.BUVA said:

It seems that Collen's teams often play their best basketball at the end of the season as well.DFW Bill said:
The road to the Final Four and the Elite Eight needs to start in Waco. If we can win the Big 12 or the Big 12 Tournament our chances of a 4 seed or even a 3 are good. At a minimum we need a Top 4 Conference finish and get to the Finals of the Conference Tournament. We need to impress the NCAAW Committee with our overall record and how we play against ranked teams. I think we have the potential to get a 4 seed and make a run at least to the Sweet 16 to help sign future recruits.
If you're a 4 seed and you win the first two games, you play in a bracket the next week with a 1 seed.
Baylor won its first WBB National Championship in 2005 by beating three straight number one seeds. First in the Elite Eight game, then both teams in the Final Four. Our Coach said "we played our best at the end of the season." That's what we hope for this season.
That's a tall order, 2 games on the road and 1 at home.IowaBear said:
...We need to beat KSU and TCU imo to host.
And even then, the result might be just bringing those teams down versus bumping us up much. It would certainly help if we have a good showing against UCLA. Of course, if some go down somebody has got to go up. No point really discussing it at this point. Just have to let the season play out.IowaBear said:
The problem will be building a top 4 resume. The b12 is garbage outside of 3-4 other teams. The chances for quality wins are slim. We need to beat KSU and TCU imo to host.
Kansas State WBB graduate center Ayoka Lee suffered an apparently serious injury in the second quarter of today's 81-69 victory over Arizona State https://t.co/cFgGplGP8D pic.twitter.com/rpEWN2mgWF

cannot see yoki in the wnba. she has two masters degrees and headed for a career outside of hoops. her body clearly can't stand the grind of college hoops much less the pros. and she's not fast enough to play there anyway. that's my assessment as a mega fan of hers and k-state.bawitdaball said:
Was shocked she didn't go to the W last year given her history of injury.
K-State has announced in a press release that Ayoka Lee has suffered a fracture in her foot.

A return before the end of the regular season is probable, but more will be known in the next couple of weeks. pic.twitter.com/E0Kd2Wj3iP
Of course, it isn't very specific, but my experience is that foot problems don't go away quickly, and I would think a fracture would be more problematic. And then, you may have a tendency to not go all out with it in fear of aggravating it when you do come back. Regardless, Lee is not a Betts.ScottyB_The_Baylor_King said:K-State has announced in a press release that Ayoka Lee has suffered a fracture in her foot.
