i'm guessing no school goes undefeated. tcu looks every bit as talented as k-state, perhaps more so. they play but once, thankfully in manhattan.

teams improve throughout the year with good coaching. we will see how this all plays out. the uu/isu game today on espn2 at 5:30 might be worthy of a look for wbb fans.

Yes. I will be very interested in Utah and ISU game. TCU and KState are very good teams but I do not see either going undefeated in conference play. There is a lot of parity in Big 12 this year. I can see all conference teams having multiple losses.

Utah beat Iowa State 75-67. I will say Kennady McQueen for Utah went down and put no pressure on left leg late in 4th quarter. She was grabbing her knee. McQueen is a double digit scorer on the season. It is something to monitor.

the preseason top 10 "twister sisters" have fallen on hard times while utah looks every bit a top 20 team. earlier they beat a splendid notre dame squad before winning in ames sunday. k-state visits slc wednesday. wbb fans might want to check that one out as it will say a lot about the top of the league.

watched most of #11 tcu's 80-73 win @ku this afternoon (1/8/25). ku has a transfer from ndsu (elle evans) who is a really fine addition complimenting their s'mya nichols. they will be a tough out particularly in afh.

tcu had all they could handle but 6'7"sedona prince (30 pts/14 boards) was just too much with the other talented girls surrounding her like haley van lith (19 pts). tcu is now 16-1 with the loss being to #2 south carolina and best win over #3 notre dame.

Isn't it odd how the transient property doesn't work out in sports. At least that's how some folks word it. BU went to KU and posted a very solid win. KU goes to OSU and beats them. OSU comes to BU and and makes them look bad. But this is how it works when everybody in the top 6 to 8 of the conference are pretty much equals. For many years it wasn't that way. We lost a few bummers every now and then but for the most part it was dominance. Often times winning the race with as many as 4 games left. That was fun if you ask me. TCU or KSU may do that this year. They seem to be a cut above at this point. But WV, UT, BU, OSU & maybe even ISU could do some major spoiling. By the way, How many of ya'll plan to make the BIG 12 tourney this year? It's just become an annual tradition for me.

If TCU has wins over Notre Dame and North Carolina State and now Kansas and is 16 and 1, this shows some bias against our conference as they should be ranked higher. The one loss was a beat down against South Carolina, but that team is beaten down a lot of really top teams in the last few years. They won the Notre Dame game fairly convincingly. Texas lost to Notre Dame and Oklahoma has two losses with three good wins but neither team has a better win than TCU and I believe TCU should be right above both of those teams.

KState smacked Utah 71-47 in Salt Lake. Utes have major player out indefinitely with high ankle sprain.

There has always been a bias or opinion that the Big XII was a weak conference. It showed when NCAA seedings came out. Baylor winning the conference by 3 or 4 games would often get a 2 seed. But it was probably justified as in some years the conference teams were really not good and it didn't help with our sisters-of-the-poor OOC schedule. It also didn't help when our highly ranked team got bounced in the SS or E8.

I think some of it is just parity now. TCU led KU by three points very very late. That has to be weighed against the wins you mention. But I think it goes back to parity. Except for perhaps a handful of teams, the dominance of a say top10-15 over everyone else is just not there anymore. There are too many good players now that just by numbers can't all be pooled onto a few teams. And also TCU is not a name brand in WBB. That also makes a difference in rankings.

"best" would be a better word than "major." leading scorer at 17 per game.

k-state got in their face defensively and the utes went complete discombobulation. that's the key to shutting down their 3-point game. good luck. utah fans not a favorite with me.

The road to the Final Four and the Elite Eight needs to start in Waco. If we can win the Big 12 or the Big 12 Tournament our chances of a 4 seed or even a 3 are good. At a minimum we need a Top 4 Conference finish and get to the Finals of the Conference Tournament. We need to impress the NCAAW Committee with our overall record and how we play against ranked teams. I think we have the potential to get a 4 seed and make a run at least to the Sweet 16 to help sign future recruits.

If you're a 4 seed and you win the first two games, you play in a bracket the next week with a 1 seed.

Baylor won its first WBB National Championship in 2005 by beating three straight number one seeds. First in the Elite Eight game, then both teams in the Final Four. Our Coach said "we played our best at the end of the season." That's what we hope for this season.

It seems that Collen's teams often play their best basketball at the end of the season as well.

The problem will be building a top 4 resume. The b12 is garbage outside of 3-4 other teams. The chances for quality wins are slim. We need to beat KSU and TCU imo to host.

Actually think the girls match up really well with KSU. TCU will be an uphill battle. Prince is playing at an AA level

And even then, the result might be just bringing those teams down versus bumping us up much. It would certainly help if we have a good showing against UCLA. Of course, if some go down somebody has got to go up. No point really discussing it at this point. Just have to let the season play out.
IowaBear

I think it's fair to discuss. Seasons halfway over and we don't have a single marquee win yet. And those opportunities going forward will be limited. Gotta capitalize on the chances we do get and hope those teams continue stacking wins as well.

I hope Kyla gets a little more run in the next few games if she is not in the doghouse. Her length and athleticism I think could at least be of some benefit against Prince. I think Nettie will play well enough, but I fear for Madison in tthis match up. Alot of Ball pressure on perimeter and fronting with Kyla. TCU did not handle South Caroina guard pressure well so I hope Aliyah is ready to go when the time comes.

cannot see yoki in the wnba. she has two masters degrees and headed for a career outside of hoops. her body clearly can't stand the grind of college hoops much less the pros. and she's not fast enough to play there anyway. that's my assessment as a mega fan of hers and k-state.

Of course, it isn't very specific, but my experience is that foot problems don't go away quickly, and I would think a fracture would be more problematic. And then, you may have a tendency to not go all out with it in fear of aggravating it when you do come back. Regardless, Lee is not a Betts.
