This just isn't accurate respectfully . Crooks isn't going to find a program where her usage is higher than it currently is. She's almost over used at times.
I mentioned it elsewhere that rumors are out in Ames that she may leave. Haven't heard it from an of my legit sources. But if she leaves i guarantee it won't be for a B12 program
Agree with this. They get a great job of getting the ball to her, and do it very very often. Crooks is great at positioning on offense but isn't even top 100 in rebounding. The lack of rebounding would not roll well with our style.

Agree. Crooks is an excellent player but Nicki's fast paced system would not be the best fit for her. Rebounding is key and the post players in Nicki's system have to run the floor.

She doesn't have the stamina to be moved around on the offensive end a lot. There's a reason she posts up. Her size is part of it. Her stamina is the other. If they moved her around more offensively she would play half the minutes her currently does.
She's a great player. But she does have some pretty substantial limits. She's also a brutal defender. Again in part due to her stamina.
Will see what happens when their season ends. But if she sticks around they should be much better next year. People forget they start 4 sophomores
Never thought about the stamina. That likely does explain it. And not sure with her body type if she will ever get to the size need to increase her mobility. Happy they won last night. Looks good for the conference.

Do we fear we are set to lose anyone from the current roster to the portal?

Agree, Kateri Poole not good fit at Baylor. People at LSU have said she was a problem in the locker room, aggressive attitude, and got into a fight. She was also accused of giving team info to an opposing team. Too many issues.

It was merely a question. Has there been any talk of someone leaving. We don't have many returning. There are a ton of holes that need to be filled. The question was simply weather those holes will possibly grow bigger. I don't live in Waco. So I don't have the hometown ear. I know last year many felt Yaya was a possibility to depart and she ended up not. I think one of the best things CNC has done is retain her roster. But this roster was super senior heavy.

From Collen's comments, Kyla is not destined to ever start at Baylor. She has become a solid role player who plays good defense and rebounds. But in multiple press conferences, Collen has said she cannot play her extended minutes because she has not developed the stamina to stay on the court that long.

Heard this about Bella and others. Maybe coach needs to hire a different fitness cord.. this statement is just crazy.

I have never heard that about Bella. Maybe I'm late to the party. I did hear her say that about kyla. She didn't verbatim say she would never start but she did mention she can't play her alot because she gets tired. I dont think it's " crazy" just the truth.

I wonder if part of her stamina relates to how she is playing. In the tournament when she got more extended minutes, she did not appear too tired and she was much more engaged.

I've never heard that about Bella and Bella has played a number of games over 30 minutes, but it's possible because of the amount of energy that she extends on defense and then the amount of punishment that she absorbs, taking charges, etc. I would rather have more players who could play as hard as she does all the time. I suspect it is her energy expenditure that has also affected her offense to some degree although it has improved with her shooting form in the second half of the season.

I think towards the end of the season with Buggs out, Kyla got to the point where she could play longer without looking to come out. Nicki commented on her improvement, both on the court with rebounding, rim protection and stamina. Not to say will start but I think with more minutes Kyla became better able to adjust to lengthening her stay on the court to some degree.

Bella takes so many charges, if she stays in too long, she'll end up like that crazy Hornette a few years ago that always got concussions.

There is no doubt in my mind that Bella's 3 ball was noticeably effected by in game fatigue. There is an old saying that when the legs go the 3 ball goes (same issue with Sarah, Yaya & Jada).
Bella changed her 3 ball form/technique and she started launching instead of shooting the 3 ball. .... to my thinking that is an adjustment she made to compensate for her feeling fatigue. Bella has by far the most natural strength of any player on the team !!! When she is fresh her shoot is a perfect parabola - Sever times this season Bella would shoot and nothing but net on her first shot and then go 0 for 4 or 0 for 8. She is a better 3 baller than that. OK I WILL SAY IT - ITS A CONDITIONING ISSUE. and she is not the only one who looked gassed in the 4th in our games vs all three games vs TCU and GCC and Ole Miss..
Her commitment to defense has been crucial to the teams success the last three years !! A way forward has to be found that gives Bella the best chance of success BOTH offensively and defensively.. .

I have been saying since the start of the season that Kyla needs more playing time. Kyla moved around so much in her younger years that she never received any consistent coaching on even basic fundamentals. Kyla is also a very nice young lady and the intensity of D1 ball is a shock to her. She made a lot of improvement this season and I am confident there is a lot more natural talent ready to come out with more time. She is a very coachable athlete and wants to please Sophia and CNC. She needs some confidence building and boosting - maybe folks attending the appreciation banquet can stop by her table and give her a shoutout on how much she has improved her game this season.
I hope CNC honors her with the most improved award at the banquet.
