As BearFan 33 said, the defense is clearly better than in previous years. Also. We have never had a player who can score like Taliah. We do need help at point guard but not sure where help will come from right now. Our other point guards, Ella and Nez are injured. Hopefully we can get them back after 1st of year.
Last night's game was not good. We should have beaten Iowa. Darianna definitely had an off night and didn't play up to her standard. However to say she has not developed is crazy. The girl had an off night; it happens to all players. Bella and Kyla were in foul trouble most of game which didn't help. KJ didn't play much. After UNLV game Nicki said she was not feeling well. One positive is that Kayla had some good minutes.
One bad game against a very good team does not change my mind that this can be an Elite 8 team.
Scott is tremendous, not taking anything from her. However, she is gonna have games where the shot is not falling and we will then have no one to go to.
Buggs and Bella are what they are at this point.
Buggs game is still the same, and hasn't progressed much if we're being honest.
Bella is always up and down.
The transfers that were hyped up? One can't even sniff the floor and she was considered to be highly touted.
Even if we had one of the PGs back, they wouldn't help much at all.
This is personally why I think we should've went after the best post available and threw the brinks truck. Without a solid post that can put pressure on the defense, we are going to continue to look stagnant.
The offense is pass to Scott and let her bail us out, but even when we look to other players to step up, they are inconsistent.
Something has to be implemented to generate better offense. If not, teams are gonna key in on Scott and force the others to win the game, and we do not have a true #2,3, or 4 that we can depend on at this point.
