It's a shame what NIL and a legendary coach leaving has done

We've managed to open up a 10-point lead at the halfway point: 35-25

Bella leads all scorers with 9.
Nelms has 7.
Deng has 6.

The good news: We're shooting nearly 50% from the field (13-28) and are spreading the ball around pretty well (10 assists).

The bad news: We're just 40% from the FT line (6-15) and have turned the ball over 11 times.

We did get a bit of separation towards the end of the 2nd quarter, however, which is a positive.

Also, Southern is 2-1 against the Big XII so far this season (Lost to ISU, but beat Houston and Arizona).

Their record against our conference should be 2-2 here in another hour or so.

The flagrant on Buggs in first half--what exactly happened? Saw her slammed between 2 SO players. Did she push back?

Final: Baylor 77, Southern 60

Bella finished with 21 points on 7/11 shooting (3/6 from 3).

Nelms finished with a career-high 15 points on 6/7 shooting (2/2 from 3).

Littlepage-Buggs had another double-double (13 & 12).

And Deng threw in 11 (4/9 from the field, 2/5 from 3).

JVG didn't have a great night shooting the ball, but did finish with a team-high 10 assists.

Still need to cut down on turnovers (19 total), but all in all, a much better performance in the 2nd half against the likely SWAC champion.

On to the conference opener against Texas Tech on Sunday.
