WACO, Texas – No. 15 Baylor women’s basketball (20-4, 9-2) looks to spark a new win streak at home against the Arizona State Sun Devils (19-5, 6-5). Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Foster Pavilion. The game will be televised on FS1.

Arizona State’s strength is its ability to force turnovers, as the Sun Devils turn teams over on 28.7% of possessions. That mark ranks 23rd nationally. As Baylor fans are well aware, the Bears have struggled with ball security in their losses this season. Baylor has turned the ball over on 27.6% of possessions in losses, as opposed to just 18.4% in wins. Turnover rate will be a very interesting metric to track in this game.

Hopefully, playing WVU so recently will better prepare us for their press.

I agree. BTW whatever happed to the MAN?

Nothing in this league seems to be a cupcake....at least not for us. Even when the final score might have indicated such, most of the games were close even into the early parts of the second half...at least that is how it feels.

You REALLY don't think this league is full of cupcakes? I don't mean that to come off as rude. But I'd definitely question what you e been watching. There's 2 good teams. A few OK teams and a bunch of cupcakes.

What I really think is that we are not the overpowering force....neither is TCU to not find ourselves squirming in our chairs a bit regardless of who we play until the game proves otherwise. We are just not running over people enough to call any game a cupcake, even when they have proven in other games to just not be good. Haven't missed watching a game.

This team lost to Cincy by 2 at Cincy. We won by 6. Certainly not a cupcake spread. We beat KU by 15. ASU beat them by 16. As I said transitive doesn't work in sports and different games may have had different lineups outside the normal. Any other of a number of factors can explain how a game goes, but just comparing a few scores, IMO, doesn't classify ASU as a cupcake. The only game they have really been "cupcaked" was TCU. Looking at the rest of their record and also that of TCU, I think that may have been a one-off game for both.

I hope you are right, obviously. Just more concerned than you. What I really think is that parity has caused a lot of really good teams to be headed in a downward direction from their previous levels of superiority and a bunch of previous seasons' cupcakes to be headed in an upward direction. The result is that it is easier and easier not to be surprised by any result.

Az. State is #2 in the league in forcing turnovers. #1 is WVU and we see what happened there. We are a good team, but we struggle with with turnovers.

Cupccake or not, they are a matchup that is a struggle for us. Our length isn't what it can be if we don't get into our halfcourt offense.

TCU is a better matchup for us. Nikki is really good at stopping single player focused offenses.

I do expect us to win ... but I expected we would beat WVU as well.

Baylor's more talented than any team in the B12 sans TCU. And the gap isn't close. These games against drastically inferior teams. And yes I believe 80-90% of this league is drastically inferior say more about BU than the opponent. Baylor has played down to the comp all season. I've been as nice as anyone about CNC but my honest opinion is she's **** the bed this year. This team has zero business losing to Tech, Okie St and WV. I'm just not personally seeing all this parity in the B12 that you see. I see a lot of really bad teams and two that should be dominating everyone else. All my opinion of course

We beat Oklahoma State. We lost to Tech by 1 point without Taliah. The WV defeat on the road was not really surprising. Their press is going to beat a lot of people. They beat Duke and TCU beat them with walk off shot.

Our only other losses were Iowa by 5 points and Texas ( who is at least a final 4 team) embarrassed us. Nicki is not perfect, but I strongly disagree she's ***** the bed this season!!!
