Please explain. If we beat frogs, do we share conference championship? Why is media saying we are only 1/2 game behind them? Does head to head matter with WV? Did not matter in football with TCU!

They're 1/2 game ahead because they've played 1 less game to date. When they beat Cincy tomm TCU will be a full game up. A win in Ft Wortyh would result in a shared regular season B12 title. They'll use tiebreakers to decide who would get the 1 seed at the B12 tournament

Loss to TT at home is unreal costly.

Yeah tiebreakers don't matter except for seeding in conference tourney.. could have 3 teams that are champions. I don't love how they do that.

With unbalanced scheduling that is the only fair thing to do, IMO. Who you played, how many times and where all factor in to the final record when comparing multiple teams.

Assuming the extremely likely scenario that TCU beats Cincy, and West Virginia beats UCF and Cincy, then a BU victory over TCU will mean threeway co-champions between us, TCU and West Virginia.

I'm guessing, based on head-to-head, that we would get a single bye, and TCU and WV would get the double bye in the conference tourney.

Some comments above directly conflict with the published B12 bracket.

We can clinch a Top-4 seed in B12 tournament if Texas Tech OR Colorado loses any of their remaining games (OR if WV loses both of its remaining games--approximately 1% chance of that)

Tech has @Kansas, Arizona State
Colorado has Utah, @BYU
WV has @UCF, Cincinnati

Might be a scenario we still escape the 5-seed via tiebreakers. Not sure.

According to this:

We would be 5-seed in this scenario.

Baylor needs to avoid a three team tie for third place or a four team tie for 2nd place. Otherwise all good for a bye.

It's been like that since even it was balanced. I remember that one year we shared with WVU. Makes more sense now but still strange.

That would be me. For some reason I had in my brain that the top two get double byes and the next two get single byes.

With Colorado's loss at Utah , we have now clinched a double bye.

Given a WVU win….likely…..and Tech win……likely

Baylor wins at TCU, shares title, 3rd seed.
Baylor loses, tied with Tech for third, 4th seed.

Not much on the line other than matchup and getting a VERY MUCH NEEDED Quad 1 win.
Pretty much relegated to winning the B12 Tourney to have any chance at hosting in NCAAT.
Consistently getting blown out on National TV is hard to overcome.

I would love to host, but getting blown out by 30 points by an above average team like Tech and a little better TCU does not scream "top 16 team in the country" for sure. That ship has sailed and rightly so….losing to them might be ok, by 30, no.

WIN OR LOSE TO FROGS WE WILL BE #3 IN THE BIG 12 TOURNEY THERE ARE 4 TEAMS THAT GET A DOUBLE BYE. AND 4 THAT GET A SINGLE BYE.

BOTTOM 8 TEAMS PLAY AND 4 WINNERS ADVANCE TO PLAY THE SINGLE BYES.

GOT IT NOW, CONFUSING SOME TIMES.

We could actually move up to the #2 seed with a win and a WVU loss to Cincinnati.

While a WVU loss is unlikely, the #2 seed is still a possibility.

It may not make a lot of difference. We would still face WVU in the semis if we get that far. I am just concerned about avoiding Tech and its press in the quarterfinals. Never know. We may have an answer for that and Tech could shoot like they did last night against KU (terrible shooting) or put half their team on the bench with fouls.

For all of Baylor's faults the last several games and our fall from prominence, I think other teams still put a target on our backs for all those years of dominating them. It still means something in this conference for teams to beat us. They just play at a higher level when we meet.

Agreed. I've also had this thought, which gives me a bit of hope heading into the conference tournament and a potential matchup against Tech: I'm reminded of the year we dominated A&M throughout conference play, and then drew them early on in the NCAA tournament. I think the "it's very hard to beat a comparable team 3 times in a season" phenomenon could be very relevant here--also if we lose on Sunday and face TCU in the conference tourney.

Well, as things currently stand, Tech is the #6 seed, and we would face them in the Quarters if chalk holds.

OSU is currently #4, Colorado is #5, and Tech is #6.

With the next teams 2 games back of that group, we're guaranteed of facing one of these 3 in the Quarters - unless they get upset the day before.

The 4-6 order will be determined by their final games:

CU @ BYU
ASU @ TECH
KU @ OSU

We beat the ags 3 times before bug dance. Twice in league and also conference tournament. I was at Reunion arena for that game. 2 aggettes were so loud I gad the usher move them to a private suite so everyone around us could 'enjoy' the game. They were ridiculously loud.

I think that season we beat A&M the first three times we played them (twice in Regular season and then in the Big 12 tourney championship). We then lost to them in the Elite Eight game in Dallas. Beating the same team three times is tough, but four times is even tougher.

A really nasty game at the EE. With today's rules, A&M would have gotten multiple T-ups for taunting and flops.

And it's nearly impossible to beat a team 4 times in one season when your coach is whining non-stop, for 2 weeks straight, about how unfair it will be to have to play that team in the regional final - which eventually results in said coach psyching out her own players.

Great coach. Great complainer. I know many who lost interest in the team because of the constant complaining. But it created a unique environment of dramatic!
