Have to admit - Baylor got a good draw on this. They can beat WV if they are hitting their shots. They shouldn't have an issues with their first game. And hopefully Tech and TCU can wear each other out in their semi. Happy to stay away from Tech, TCU, and Iowa State. Though I have to assume Audi will struggle to play so many games in short succession, and their offense runs almost exclusively through her.
On that note - not at all impressed with the team or the coaching that has been done this season. But I cannot image the fruition Iowa State fans must be feeling right now. I'm not sure anyone expected them to struggle like they have. And finishing 7th just seems painful to their faithful.
While the draw could have been worse, we can absolutely have issues with our first opponent, assuming it's Colorado.
The Buffs gave us fits in Waco and have also beaten TCU and Tech.
And with the way CNC mismanages her personnel, none of us should feel comfortable about any match-up moving forward.
As for Iowa State, they are a much better team now than they were at the beginning of January, when they were trying to figure things out after the injury to Addy Brown (she missed the next 11 games after our matchup with the Cyclones, and they ended up losing the first 4 games they played without her).
Since then, they've won 8 of 11, including a win at Tech. They also had TCU on the ropes in Fort Worth, but blew a 13-point 4th quarter lead against the Frogs.
Don't be surprised if they go on a bit of a run and face us in the semifinals instead of WVU (assuming we win our first game). They'll have a homecourt edge against both ASU and WVU, and I could see them winning both games.
