As I suspected SC started taking over. Johnson and Williams straight up disappear when LSu faces the elite of elite. It's why their ceiling is the E8.

At least CKM can hold the thought she did beat SC at least once ( that I know of) while at BU.

Multiple times I believe. I'd have to check. There some mental block stuff going on in that matchup. Reminds of BY/RTCU football. Games are typically always close but the winner is a forgone conclusion

Yes. We beat South Carolina twice during the national championship season in 2019.

Once during the regular season in Columbia.

Then again in the NCAA Regional Semifinal in Greensboro.

Lost to 'em in 2020, though (in one of the early season tournaments in the Bahamas).

We never got to play them in the Ferrell Center.

Seems like every time our opponents were announced for the Big XII/SEC Challenge, we always got a mediocre squad to come to Waco.

Don't think Kim was a big fan of those premier matchups early on.

Also think we missed out on a lot of potentially good home games during that stretch around 2015-2018 (South Carolina, Mississippi State, Tennessee).

We did get Tennessee at home once (in 2011). Should have played them in Waco more often, imo.

Texas also has an excellent staff. But none of that matters to the "NIL is all the matters" crowd that does nothing but ***** on here daily

If you watched the TxSC game you would have saw that NIk had nothing to do with that game. That was a coaching clinic by Vic. I like him or not he's absolutely capable of putting on a clinic against good teams despite being a big whiner

UCONN is simply head and shoulders above everyone else this year.

When the Huskies lock in, nobody is close.

Geno game plans better than anyone in the country, and he rarely makes head scratching mistakes as a coach.

If you're gonna beat him, you almost always better have the talent to match him, player for player. And even then, that still might not be enough.

The sad reality is that everyone else is playing for second.

With that said, Texas is good enough to reach the Final - IF they manage to be placed on the opposite side of the bracket from UCONN.

The funny thing is that EVERYONE on Sic'em 365 would be HUGE Vic fans if he were our head coach today.

Honestly, if we'd known that Kim was going to eventually throw a hissy fit and leave when it was all said and done, then I honestly wish she would have moved on during the lost COVID season (or immediately after the 2019 title).

Had she done so then, we might have actually been able to lure Vic here, since he's from Texas and really wanted to get back home.

He would have actually been a perfect fit for Baylor, and we wouldn't have missed a beat, imo.

UConn may very well win it all. But I disagree with the notion they're vastly superior to everyone else. There's really no way of knowing that one way or the other. The 2 best squads they played if I recall are Iowa and Michigan who they only beat by 3. That same Iowa team that got drilled by 50 today in the B10 finals. There's a few teams that imo could be UConn. Will that happen. No idea, but they'll get tested a few times after the chalk ends

Probably right. At a company we had a CEO that was a complete jerk, but was a very good CEO.
The saying was "yea he's a jerk, but at least he's our jerk" (cleaned up for the kids in the audience)

That Michigan game was also very early in the season.

Know what other game was early in the season?

Baylor/Duke.

Since that early season game, they've gotten waaaay better.

And even if you focus on just that one game alone, they were up by nearly 20 at halftime, and took their foot off the gas in the 3rd. That hasn't happened since.

Sure, they could stumble - I guess. I mean, anything could happen.

Likely?

I agree Iowa, UConn is good but I don't think they are any better than South Carolina, Texas and maybe UCLA and yes they aren't battled tested like the those in the SEC.
