I don't watch girl's basketball unless Baylor is playing. But I made a bracket just for ****s and giggles. It basically boils down to this.

Final 4: UConn, South Carolina, LSU, Texas
Championship: UConn v LSU
Champion: UConn

USA Today Paper today finally sees what I have been saying about WV. Constant pressure, smothering defense, and attitude. I hope WV survives Kentucky in order to face Texas. Sure, Texas is more talented, but WV has nothing to lose and could make for a miserable outing for UT even if horns win. All depends on refs. If BIG 12 refs call game, street ball elbows, body shots, and reach a rounds will make for a long day for horns. If refs follow rules (we are unaccustomed to this) WV will be in foul trouble by halftime. Who knows, but I would hate to see them in my bracket. And horns have no one better than Miles from TCU. She gave WV no trouble. Of course, talent is deeper at Ut, so we will see. Pulling for the hillbillies. If you can't beat them (and we can't) then join them.

WV ain't getting past Kentucky Fred. Terrible terrible match up for them. As always though… if I'm wrong I'll be in this thread having crow sandwiches

I haven't seen UCLA play, so not sure how they match up against UConn, SC, or Texas. Are they a one-trick pony with Betts?

No, they're loaded. The problem is they have no bench at all. They're also incredibly un athletic. I've said all season I think LSu gets knocked out early. But… if they meet UCKA in the E8 that's a matchup LSu is going to have advantages in. Not saying they'd win. But I wouldn't be shocked if they tripped them up.

Whoever BU plays Friday, they are going to their hands full. Nebraska is pretty good they have size. Richmond has size also

We're 1.5 point underdogs. By the metrics Nebraska is 2nd best offense we've faced all year

UCLA will win their region unless something truly crazy happens ( la Louisville upsetting us). In regards to overall talent, then and as UConn are far ahead of everyone else. Though Texas isn't a great matchup for them and could make for an interesting Semifinal.

It wouldn't be truly crazy for lSU to beat them. LSU is a bad matchup for them. This is still the same uCLA that got taken out back by Texas. They're not without flaws. Not saying it'll happen but it's far from a crazy outcome

They rely heavily on Prince much like Baylor does with Scott. I like Baylor's ability defensively to slow them down

We should be able to get good shots on offense. They don't have the length/denial/ball pressure on D that has bothered our O.

Beaten by Texas in Austin … and realistically Texas was gelling super well at the beginning of the season. LSU hasn't been able to close out games away from home. And UCLA is a much better team than they were in November. It's March … anything can happen. But I see them and UCONN playing for the Natty in three weeks.

We've been getting good shots on offense. We lost the last TCU game and the Colorado game in the first quarter. The rest of the game was, I think, a 4-point TCU advantage after the first quarter and for Colorado we outscored them the last 3 quarters of the game.

We were not dominated in either game. We just can't go through a 6 or 7 minute span in the first quarter where we cannot hit open shots as we did in those two games. We end up with a low double-digit deficit quickly and we then have to chase points the rest of the game pulling close but not being able to overcome the hole we dug in the first quarter....not so much by the other team's defense but because we can't hit the ocean when left open, missing even uncontested layups.

Our first quarter shooting performance will likely once again tell the story.

Duke favored by 12.5. Iirc they were favored by between 5-10 in Paris

We need to play freely and as underdogs

1. They have gotten better, we have declined

2. Their home court

3. They want payback

4. We seem lost with one exception, LPB, and she sits the bench with fouls

5. We have no respect for taking care of the ball


So play wide open, that, however, does not mean that TS needs to randomly Jack up threes from half court.

Pulling for bears but don't see a win unless Duke shoots themselves in the foot.

Same! That game was one of if not the best game of the day on the woman's side. The 1st & 2nd rounds of the woman's tournament are almost unwatchable

I HATE THAT WE LOST ON KYMORA JOHNSON. she is such a great player and i can see the vision the coaching staff had for her in our system. She is a biggger, more crafty, and stronger version of Jana i would say. She can score at all 3 levels and is a lot of fun to watch.

I remember that " new sheriff in town" line.Kim and the Lady Bears didn't agree.We beat them in Austin later that season(N. Davis was great) and the next 12 times we played them.

Iowa State struggled vs Syracuse. Crooks sat a lot of first half with 2 fouls. Start of Q4 down by 17, then Syracuse decided to stop guarding her. She scores 37 points total but they fall 72-63.

I don't know if it was that game or not, but I remember McCarty once being almost at mid court near the sideline with the shot clock expiring and she just about just slung it over her shoulder with her back to the basket.........of course it went it.
