Crooks uses her bulk to score but is a TERRIBLE defender. First two minutes of a rotation she is merely below average, but as she tires she is atrocious on D.

And Fennelly focuses so much on the primary scoring option (true his entire career) that secondary scoring options never fully develop. Crooks was 17 for 25 but the rest of the team was 9 for 42. Insanely poor.

Syracuse shot 41% from field, 36% from 3 and 70% from FT line. Syracuse wasn't playing above their abilities, ISU is simply a mediocre team.

Fennelly will likely need some nudging to leave. But not sure any other coach will do better……Iowa is not exactly a hotbed of WBB talent.

What a disappointing season for them.

Outside of that I have never understood the effectiveness of Crooks. I would love to see her play against a legitimate skilled big such as Betts. To me, she just beats up on lesser teams. I can't believe comments about how she is one of the top centers in the country. Am I missing something?

Crooks had 23/13 against Brink and Iriafan who are now in WNBA. She's never going to be much in WNBA she's too big and can't play D. But she's a good college center. Some of our posters are truly idiots

I love Crooks' game and think the hype (for her offense, of course) is merited. I do, however, feel she took a step back physically this year. As someone noted above, she does rely on her bulk to push through, but she also has great footwork and an excellent shot. But it seems this year that elite-level footwork that kept defenders wondering what she would do took a backseat to her barreling her way to the basket.

Did u see 9 players are transferring out of Iowa State. Curious what is going on.

IMO the NIL issue is taking a greater toll on the more elderly coaches than meets the eye or ear.
