Maybe. Maybe not.
But I'm putting that theory to the test if I'm Carolina.
I think UCLA and Betts panic a little if they see Carolina turn up the heat and go on a mini-run with her struggling on the bench.
But once Carolina let them off the hook, the Bruins settled in and never had to deal with much pressure.
Plus, Staley never applied pressure down low. Both Okot and Tournebize should have been on the floor together doubling Betts.
Not much you can do about Joyce Edwards being a no-show in the title game for the second consecutive year.
But some of Staley's decision-making has been questionable today.
If nothing else, there were a few moments where a tech might have been warranted to get her team fired up.
If Duke could give UCLA all they could handle, then South Carolina definitely should have been able to do the same.
