It's odd that Baylor women's basketball hasn't released its nonconference schedule. Some conferences have already released their conference schedule.

Maybe they are waiting on conference days to release all games at once, but I admit it is a little odd too that they haven't revealed the rest of the nonconference slate yet.

It sometimes seems like Baylor womens basketball is a marketing afterthought. The season starts in 2 months and we have no schedule.

They always take so long too put out the schedule, i never understood why

Last year it came out August 28. The year before that it came out September 19. So should be soon

Man, that home slate is AWFUL.

According to those in the know, big name programs want to participate in these outside hosted neutral site venues. They don't want home and homes anymore. If we want to play in the big time matchups, and we do, we have to embrace those neutral site venues. Doesn't leave a whole lot else for home games. Plus, I would imagine the share of the gate demand is less for lower league opponents. Want that money directed to different needs.

Not particularly fun for us fans, I would certainly agree, but I think that will be the trend for awhile.

Zero NIL for On Campus games. Other than Conference games, high profile games will all be Neutral Court until something changes. Fans must adapt.

Baylor getting high profile NIL games is a great sign.

I think we all realize that it will be a challenge to get Top 10 teams to come to our place, but is it really that hard to get a few mid-level programs to come to town?

Teams like Oregon State, Miami, Stanford, and even Nebraska might be open to a home and home.

When your best home matchup is UTSA, you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

In the past five seasons, our record is 127-45. I get that isn't up to Baylor's standards. But it's a long way from being accurately described as "not winning".

The men have much more lucrative tv deals in place, which is why the neutral site thing happens frequently on that side of the fence.

The men are already guaranteed of getting views on a regular basis, as they benefit from having an established brand.

The women need the more intriguing matchups to draw in the casual fan, however (and even some diehards).

Sure, we might get an appealing neutral site matchup here or there.

But what good does that do if you follow it up with 5 or 6 stinkers in a row?

You lose all interest and excitement you might have gained from that one neutral site game.

On the surface, it doesn't look like we even tried to go after a brand name school with a pulse.

Again……missing the point.

Every decision related to scheduling centers on post season and NIL.

P4 teams almost always (unless early in a turnaround when they are solely focused on easy wins) schedule 5-6 quality teams in NC and the rest are scrubs. Every year. With only those 5-6 opportunities to build NIL for players, no sane coach will waste one (or more) of the games simply to make fans happy. Those games are now solely NIL at neutral court. Home and Away is a dead dinosaur.

Build a Tourney resume and get your players paid….the only factors that matter in scheduling.

Well, then no one should be surprised (or cry) about the smaller crowds watching games at Foster during the early part of the season.

When you don't care about pleasing your fans, an empty arena is likely what you'll get.

I doubt anyone has the Northern Kentucky game circled on their calendar.
